Narciso perfume

Slightly odd question which could just as easily be asked on the books threads...

DD (15) loves the Strike books and would love to own the perfume Strike gives to Robin in Troubled Blood - Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez. Unfortunately it seems to have been discontinued? Any ideas for close seconds or any other Narciso Rodriguez recommendations?

‘For Her’ is lovely.

A quick Google suggests it's still very much available 😊

I can't find the 'white cube' bottle as described in the books and there seem to be a lot of variants of Narciso but very happy to be proved wrong.

The "For Her" is my absolute all time favourite perfume. Readily available but expensive.

I imagined pricey but she can't think of a lot she wants for Christmas otherwise so prepared to splash out if I can find the right thing.

I've worn Narciso Rodriguez for nearly literal decades - since I was 16 and I'm now 35. Back then, it was only available in airports really and from what I remember, there was only ever two types - for her - one in the black bottle and one in the pink which were perfume/toilette. As time went on and it became more popular, more varieties were released.

I can't remember there being a white cube bottle apart from the musc one. I have a little peach coloured Narciso perfume in a cube bottle - the poudre variety - how old is the book so we can gauge the right perfume?

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the Narciso range. I feel they all have a similar smell.

I’m the same as the poster above and have been wearing it for 20 years and have tried lots of scents, but tend to rotate between For Her, Ambre & Rouge.

I do remember thinking Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely was similar to For Her & you can buy that relatively cheaply.

There are some sets on eBay of Narciso by NR in the white cube - it does look like it's a discontinued line. I've worn The "for her" version for a few years and don't recall one in a white square bottle. It's always been pink or black rectangular bottle.

Thanks for all your helpful comments the book was published in 2020 but set in the recent past- quite hard to pin down a specific year. The most recent one for example has no mention of covid etc so a few years out.

Hi, I know this is an old post but just wanted to let you know there there's a dupe of the discontinued white cube Narciso Eau De Parfum by a chemist brand called Verset Parfums and the perfume is called 'Vivian'. Narciso notes are gardenia and white rose, musk, vetiver, white and black cedar. It's very lotiony, sharp, sensual, creamy, smooth and musky. Verset is very very similar but just not quite as refined and creamy as the original Narciso white cube but probably as good as you'll get! The other Narciso fragrances are not the same other than sharing a musky base. Vivian is very cheap, £4.99 for 15ml at my local chemist xx
