Smudge proof waterline eyeliner tip

Apologies if this is known already but I just found out about this and am amazed! It won’t be suitable for contact wearers or those with sensitive eyes. Yes I know most don’t wear it anymore - looks dated, not good for the eyes but I can’t not line my lower lash line!

For anyone who has tried a million brands and nothing ever stays put I saw a video from a makeup artist who recommended this: Dry your waterline with a cotton bud or tissue. Use a cream liner (I use Inglot liner in the pot), pat the liner with a thin brush. Wait a bit then pat a second coating. She didn’t do this but I also used a tiny bit setting powder, first after drying my waterline, then after applying the liner.

This is the first time in 30+ years my liner had stayed on! It was a little lighter but definitely stayed put and didn’t give me panda eyes or pool in the outer corner like it usual does. The makeup artist said cream only and this won’t work with pencil but I’m going to try with pencils. I have 2 Urban decays 24/7 waterline and 24/7 glide on, Avon glimmer stick and a pixie one so will see how they fare. Every single one of these including the Inglot used to disappear after a couple hours.

Have you tried using actual kohl? It's a gritty powder you apply with a stick. It tends to slither into the corner of your eye, but doesn't fall off the way modern liners do.

I used to use it. Now my eyes are old & bad-tempered, I do lash-lining instead (when I can be bothered). Gives a similar effect, but doesn't come off because the product's in the lash roots, not your eye.

@GarlicMaybeNot I tried it years ago. Kohl from an Asian beauty store that comes in a bottle. It worked a bit as in it stayed dark on my liner but still gave me panda eyes.
