Dry cracked lips

I work out in the elements. Every winter I end up with ridiculously dry cracked lips. I've tried vaseline, burts bees and various other stuff but they give temporary relief and then half an hour later I'm back to dry lips.

Does anyone have a wonder product which will cure this?

lanisoh nipple cream

I was going to say the same.

It was recommended to me on a thread a couple of years ago.
It sounds nuts, but it's the best ever and a wonder product.
Honestly, the relief is instant and fixes dry lips overnight.

You'll not regret it.

A third for lansinoh nipple cream.
You can get a tube for about £10 and you only need to use a tiny amount each time - the tube will last forever!

Nivea. The old fashioned one in the blue pot.
I absolutely swear by it.

O’Keefe’s Lip Repair really is a wonder product. My son’s lips were cracked and bleeding and this fixed them. He always has it in his pocket now and never has a problem with his lips.

Honestly, it’s amazing stuff.

Boots No7 do a tube of lip cream that is very good. Not greasy at all but very moisturising

DelightfulDoris · 28/11/2023 17:28

Carmex

Blistex relief cream in the purple packaging. Even the Dr recommended it when we asked

Another recommendation for Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream, expensive but lasts for ages. I only ever buy the 50ml tube, not the lip balm

Cellotapedispenser · 28/11/2023 17:45

It's not one product but a process I find. So first need to soften the harder skin with a gentle acid, glycolic or salicylic. Then when soaked need to remove the harder skin with a washcloth or mulsin to gently remove. Then a moisturiser with hyraulonic acid and then a sealant like Vaseline once you're fully moisturised. Do at night, in the morning more moisturiser before lipstick.

Nipple cream! It’s a beauty secret 🤣

Snippit · 28/11/2023 17:49

LUXE lip balm is amazing. Like you I’ve tried everything, burts bees, you name it. It’s transformative, my lips are so much better.

BiPolarBabe · 29/11/2023 13:09

Thank you everyone. Off to try the nipple cream first I think!

I second the O’Keefes lip repair. Miracle stuff.

The blister cream really is good. I was dubious of a cream but it's fantastic. Laneige lip mask (basically just a lip balm) is also lovely.

What tends to help me is making sure I put a thick layer of occlusive lip balm on before I actually go out, and making sure it stays on rather than waiting until afterwards to try and play catch up. Same with my hands. Covering in hand cream before they see the elements makes a world of difference.

Coconut oil

Lansinoh caught on to us all using the nipple cream as lip balm. It's now in a proper lip balm tube! I got some as I was fed up of feeling weird at work getting out the nipple balm for my lips.

I'd gently exfoliate your lips with something like sugar before. Then lanolin nipple cream.
If you want to be a bit more glam, 'Lanolips' brand is very good and also has alot of lanolin in.
Vaseline seals the moisture in the lips but doesn't really moisturise them.

But for home use the original nipple cream is much better value.
