Don't trust Meet.Curve

Stupidly fell for a Meet.Curve which looks very convincing but actually is a scam clothing site as it refuses to do refunds or returns.

Bought stuff via an Insta ad (I know, I know) and wanted to share to warn others.

The site is dishonest and doesn't do refunds. You order, it takes ages and when it arrives the quality is terrible. It masquerades as a UK site but it's actually in China (even though they gave a fake US address at one point).

Customer services is an email address that endlessly gives you the runaround, promising various things but never making it possible to return or get a refund. Eventually they start offering partial refunds but they never show up.

I managed to get my money back via my credit card company who were great. I now think the customer services approach is to try to waste your time or pretend they're showing willing to put off your credit card provider. Thankfully they saw through it.

I'd hate anyone to be ripped off. So disappointing. Wish I'd checked their trust pilot before ordering.

Yup totally agree. Their sizing is weird too, I bought two (luckily fairly cheap) swimming costumes which were tiny! I sized up too! So because they claim to be in the UK I told them the Consumer Rights Act would apply, the clothes weren't fit for purpose, and low and behold a 75% refund appeared. Given they wanted me to return to the US for a full refund, that left me less out of pocket than paying postage.

They go out of their way to seem legit, with lots of influencer reviews, which makes it harder to spot the scam.

Well done for fighting your corner but annoying they still kept 25%!

The US address is fake, designed to put you off - they're in China.

I tried reporting to Trading Standards but it doesn't seem easy to do these days so I'm hoping we can just all share our stories and hope others see them before they click buy in the most oddly cut, flammable material cheap crap.

@SaraAndersson maybe you didn't mean to come across rude, but I placed my order on Feb 25th when there was only 1 Trustpilot review, so ya know, hard to tell if a trend or a single disgruntled customer...

cardiffburneracct · 29/11/2023 23:25

The influencers definitely influenced me - looked like all these people had trusted the site. I felt like a total idiot.

Sorry babe, was not meant to be rude at all. It was just something I noticed. But I don't think Trustpilot works like they want or maybe it does. Most people will only check Trustpilot if they've been scammed or want to complain. So I guess White Fox will keep going for a while longer.

Alluream is another similar one, you return to china but they don't collect or do their bit of customs so eventually it gets returned to you
