Size 6 trousers with 28.5 waist?

Is this possible? It's at Me&Em.
I am after some cords and the fit guide says this, and yet the model wears the UK8.
Not sure how, since I imagine it would drown her.

Am I missing something, or are most brands just playing with the fairies at this point?

I just use a tape measure and then buy to fit. It means I can't delude myself about fitting by size. Size means almost nothing, whereas what an inch is hasn't changed. My clothes fit well, and when I have put on weight, well, the tape measure shows me.

@bombastix not sure that this would work with Me & Em though. Did you see the sizing chart upthread? Seems weirdly big.

I'd just email to check the measurements- sounds like a mistake to me! Supply own measurements and ask what fits. It's a good brand and they are helpful ime

I see. Place tape measure on preferred item size both lengthways from crotch to waistband and measure the waistband. But disappointing response which suggests the responder can't check themselves. Perhaps call one of the stores. They used to be good but maybe they no longer bother, but not exactly cheap!

Well, in response the high carb diet, I have IBS and although i eat a lot of veg and lean meat, I can't go a day without decent carbs. I love bread and pasta and rice, and tend to stick around the low weight for my height. Maybe it's familial, my family were similar, but if i deny carbs I become unwell, fast!

I did have some success recently with Crew clothing jeans. A bit thin for denim but great in sizing. Unfortunately they sent me the wrong leg length.

Most young people probably do have a 22-26 inch waist, mine has grown over the years, I'm in my 60s now and at 31" is a typical 14 so I am glad the sizes have changed, it's only my waist that has grown though, not the rest of me

I have a varied diet and a 25/26 inch waist at 5 foot 7. I run a lot, though. In my 50s.
