Luxury dressing gown?

tinyracoon · 27/11/2023 11:54

Looking for a luxury dressing gown for my DM for Christmas if anyone has any recommendations? The only non negotiable is that needs to be natural fibres (no polyester), ideally it would be long without a hood...

Has anyone seen anything nice out there? I did see a white company cashmere one but the price was too high for my budget!

Whats your budget. LIBERTY has a sale on £175.

tinyracoon · 27/11/2023 12:05

Not going to lie; I was hoping for less than £100 but now I've started looking I think it was being optimistic!

Maybe downgrade luxury to 'really nice' 🙈

What about this?

dottyaboutstripes · 27/11/2023 13:31

Sorry, it's polyester 🙄

i bought one of the shibumi ones as well after one of these previous threads, was like thin threadbare damask curtains and the one I ordered smelt awfully musty 😢😢 was returned asap!

Mercurial123 · 27/11/2023 14:35

I donated my Shimbui dressing gown. The quality wasn't great. I'd go with Toast as recommended by pp. They are excellent quality .

grass67 · 27/11/2023 16:26

😁 glad I wasn't the only one to return. I found mine scratchy and I can wear lambswool without being scratched. Definitely a case of emperors new clothes.

tinyracoon · 27/11/2023 18:22

Ooh thank you!

@Jewelspun great find, love that one and what a good price!

I've got two from woolovers I think they both cashmere or a cashmere mix.
Super cosy without being bulky
Woolovers often have an offer on too x

Got a screenshot ( I can't do links properly!)

I saw some nice Rosie Homewear ones in M&S.

faustina · 29/11/2023 16:43

The woolovers one was my winter dressing gown until today (just upgraded!). It wasn't the prettiest but it was warm, machine washable, and lasted about six years - only just beginning to get holes in the elbows. It's 90% merino and 10% cashmere, but nice and warm. Anyway if this is what your mum likes I can recommend!

JaceLancs · 29/11/2023 22:01

I can recommend woolovers too - I bought one a few years ago and one for DD on a Black Friday deal 2 for £100
size up though if you like enough to wrap round

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 29/11/2023 22:04

White Company. In tall and they are quite long.

Full length makes it dangerous to walk upstairs.
