im after a good makeup brush set (ideally set over individuals) as a gift for someone. This isn’t my strong point so need some help on good brands to look at. I’m thinking about £150 rough budget.

I am unreasonably obsessed with makeup brushes and have literally hundreds from many brands. You don't need to spend £150 to get really good quality brush sets.

Depending on how big a set you want to get - I'd look at brands Spectrum and Real Techniques. Both do good quality long lasting brushes. They do lots of option from eg a set for eyes to a set with literally every brush you'd need/starter kit.

If you want to spend a bit more my favourite £££ brushes are Bobbi Brown, they have a couple of seasonal kits out at the moment.

I love Melly Sophia the make up artist, she's on Instagram, does workshops and is a wedding make up artist, so posts lots of pics off her clients before and after. She's brought out her own brush set, it's on BF offer at the moment for £66 (10 brushes in a roll)

The best brushes I have are from beauty pie

I'd recommend real techniques as PP said - it's owned and developed by two makeup artists, I've used their brushes and sponges for years. They're fab! Really long lasting too.

Thanks for the replies. Branding is an important factor for the person who has asked me to help get a gift so a “cheap” set won’t be suitable. That’s just how they do things, not my choice. I’ll have a look at the options suggested so far.

I love my Sigma brush set - had for a few years now and would really recommend. The set I have is this with a cup holder case (mine came all together in a set, but they now seem to be selling the brushes and case separately).
