Itchy spotty sensitive skin - please help

Please can people with more skincare knowledge than me help!

basically I am experiencing a complete nightmare with my skin. It has always been very sensitive, with 95% of the moisturisers and cleansers I’ve tried bringing me out in an eczema attack.

delightfully i also suffer from regular breakouts.

I’ve tried oil cleansing, double cleansing, Dermatica (triggered a horrendous acne attack), steroid cream for the eczema which is around my eyes and lips.

my skin is currently horribly bumpy and spotty on my forehead. I recently got a jawline breakout under control thanks to Duac from doctor. I also feel like it’s incredibly dehydrated and getting wrinklier every day and my failsafe moisturiser (Cerave) is now triggering eczema.

Waiting for a derm referral but in meantime I’m desperate. I’m late 30s, one year postpartum.

current routine is cleansing with Cerave, moisturising with Cerave then using duac on acne areas and steroid cream where necessary.

thank you!

I know you probably already have but have you tried the Simple range of moisturisers? I've got really dry itchy skin and it really helps 😊

Are you on antihistamines to try and control any allergic reactions? I’ve had similar earlier in the year and had to use fexofenadine for a few weeks before even the stuff I usually use stopped causing rashes. I think my skin was so over sensitised by something (possibly bad hayfever as it was back in the spring) that it was just reacting to everything!

Huge sympathy - it’s totally miserable!

Thanks both, appreciate replies. Simple stuff broke me out :( haven’t tried antihistamines, good idea! It’s just being constantly on tipping point between eczema and acne, drives me mad!

Oh op, this is sounding very familiar so am watching this thread. I'm late 40's so appreciate my previously trouble free skin is changing and needs so much more TLC. I will follow with interest!

I have been in a similar state. I am getting on with aveeno products for face better. My break outs of excema and acne have decreased substantially.
