What tights if not snag?

Themermaidspool · 22/11/2023 08:49

Have been using snag for a few years! Recently put in a massively expensive order as a treat. Mixture of patterned and plain 80 denier all the same usual size. 3 of the patterned ones have laddered on first use. Their texture (aside from the obvious) is a bit different too and I wonder if this is why. The plain ones are fine. Have emailed snag - radio silence.
What if not snag?
I used to use M&S but I like a bit of colour and they were a bit fall down/cut me in half recently.
For context I'm a curvy size 16, average height.
Thank you for your help

Better tights are similar

Hashbrownsgalore · 22/11/2023 08:59

I like knitted style tights from H&M (mostly) and M&S, soft and comfy with stretchy waistbands (I’m a 12 and wear a small no problem). They last a couple of winters in my experience and are pretty cheap. Cable knit ones look nice with skirts etc.

Also the fleece lined ones from Primark are good and warm if a bit artificial feeling.

Another vote for Better Tights. Only got one pair of theirs so far but found them more comfortable than Snags!

Oooh thank you! I have to admit to feeling a bit aggrieved as that's 45 quid down the drain!!

Another vote for Better here, having tried both (and I'm a rare and reluctant tights wearer)

I bought DD3 snag tights and 3 pairs have laddered. It's very disappointing.

LuckyCharmz · 22/11/2023 10:44

I’ve worn Falke Cotton Touch touch tights in thr winter for years, I’m also short and curvy. They come in different colours, but price like with everything has crept up over the years, from £19 to over 30 this year, although I have recently found a double pack on amazin for £33. Amazing quality and fit.

idontlikealdi · 22/11/2023 10:46

M&S, I love them, have my first pair on today this autumn and they are so comfy. Bought some cheapos from primark and had to revert to last years, no gusset!

caramond · 22/11/2023 19:08

I've tried Better Tights and they are good.

Popsy tights were a disappointment, they fall down.

In regards to Snag, I recently contacted them through Facebook messenger and had a response in a couple of hours and a replacement pair of tights delivered within days.

Mirrormeback · 23/11/2023 02:52

M&S tights can be worn loads and washed without laddering abd the same can be said for Primark tights

TTCAbroad · 23/11/2023 03:27

Heist tights are absolutely wonderful! I’ve been devoted to them for years because they are genuinely so comfortable and rarely, rarely ladder. Also, the waistband doesn’t roll.
They do have a slightly premium price point but the Black Friday sale is on right now.

Geppili · 23/11/2023 03:39

Manzi The Tights from Amazon! They last. Never fall down and have amazing subtle support.

Bobtheamazinggingerdog · 23/11/2023 05:15

I had a pair of patterned snags that ripped and they responded immediately to my email and sent me a replacement. Try emailing again and message them on twitter if you don't get a response.

Primark tights are miles away from snag in terms of comfort and quality. They are t comparable.

nutsnutspistachionuts · 23/11/2023 19:28

Heist. I can’t go back. 💸

PinkTonic · 23/11/2023 20:01

Another vote for heist, no comparison.

I like Better Tights as well.

I’d definitely try and get in touch with Snag again though. Post on their socials. They’re normally good with customer service from what I’ve seen and experienced though I know not everyone has.

Shinyandnew1 · 23/11/2023 22:51

I bought a very overpriced pair of Snag tights last winter. They cut me in two in the middle which was exactly what I was hoping they wouldn’t do. Waste of money!

haribosmarties · 23/11/2023 22:57

I get all mine from 'Better Tights' much cheaper than snag. The designs aren't as fun but for plain colours it's great.
They are so stretchy and comfortable. I'm now 7 months pregnant and I'm still wearing the same tights.. thats how stretchy they are. And they did not fall down when I was not pregnant, they fit well. They fit well now at 7 months gone and I can't believe it!

Totally disagree with this! If anything I could say it the other way around - I once bought some tights from Snag that laddered immediately and didn’t fit at all. Primark ones fit well and are sturdy. So definitely comparable in Primark’s favour!

Are you slim?
primark tights for me either don't pull up far enough to cover my tummy meaning they get stretched and ride down, or if I buy a size up they swamp me. They aren't designed for fatties, unlike snag which very much are

Hashbrownsgalore · 24/11/2023 08:46

Hi @Bobtheamazinggingerdog I’m a size 12 and short - maybe I ordered the wrong size at Snag! But the laddering really put me off. Nice colours though.
