I've recently discovered two things which I wish I had known about years ago.

(1) Nail wraps/semi-cured gel nail stickers. I like for my nails to look 'done' but: (a) I can't do it myself to a high standard. I'm talking about plain colour, no designs, but I just can't paint them neatly, or (b) if I do, I've chipped them within an hour. Getting them done at a salon is not an expense in the budget at the moment. I can't believe how easy the stickers are to do and how quick. Like 5 mins. So cheap. Some for a pound online. The ones I got were closer to ten but still cheaper than the salon.

(2) Magnetic lashes. I bought some years ago. It was where you sandwich your own lashes between a strip of falsies and a magnetic strip. It felt horrid and clunky and I decided magnetic lashes aren't for me. Then I discovered the kind where the eyeliner is magnetic and it is so easy!

Do you have any game-changers? Please don't say 'oh, this lotion smells nice' or whatever. I mean real game-changers that you really feel upped your style and beauty level.

Ooh I felt the same about magnetic lashes so id Def be interested to hear about your new ones. Which ones are they please?
My only game changer is stopping dying my hair and embracing my curls. Now I'm no longer scared of my hair getting wet on the rain

I don't have any brands to recommend. Someone in another thread is following me around accusing me of doing an ad. Basically the old type is magnetically sandwiching your eyelashes between fake lashes and a strip of magnet. This new way, the magnet seems to be inside the eyeliner. To be fair, it's probably poisonous or something but I'll risk it.

The thing I don't like about the glued on type is that it usually takes me several goes and by then my eye makeup is ruined. With this, the eyeliner is part of the style.

Google magnetic eyeliner eyelashes.

Can you tell me about the Olaplex, and the bear? Actually, if you have time, can you say what's special about the things you listed, compared to the Asda own brand version?

I have the bear. Use it every morning. Really think it makes a difference in lessening puffiness and making my face symmetrical.

What does it actually do?

It's an electrical stimulation device. Years ago I saw an article saying men who shaved every morning had more toned faces because of that. It feels like this is my morning shave and tone up 😄

OnlyCorrect · 22/11/2023 09:45

Olaplex keeps my bleached&dyed hair in better condition than virgin.
Bear lifts cheekbones, defines jawline, makes brows symmetrical (left one has sagged more than right for some reason).
In fairness I'd no idea Asda made disulphide bond repair treatments or microcurrent devices

UK Lash serum. Was a bit dubious about how effective it would actually be. But, have used it consistently for over 3 months and several people have asked if I'm wearing false lashes! It's much, much better than a LVL Lash treatment. Have just purchased my second tube, and won't ever be without it now.

Are we allowed to add our Anti Game Changer? For me, it's sodding Jones Road Miracle Balm - otherwise known as 'Sticky Shit In A Tub'. I have watched all the tutorials, I have practiced endlessly, I have bought a special buffing brush, all to no avail. It now sits on my dressing table mocking me.

Strangerfings1 · 22/11/2023 16:54

OMG I'm considering the Foreo Bear now. Is it worth it? Really? Do you really see results?
I love UK Lash. I used it for about 6 weeks and did see a difference but then I read that it works by using prostaglandins which can contribute to the loss of fat under the eyes. So while your lashes look great you might end up with an older face! Now I don't know if that's true but it was enough to scare me off. So if anyone knows of a lash serum that works WITHOUT prostaglandins I'd leave to hear about it

wondabar · 23/11/2023 09:28

For the nail wraps do you need a nail lamp?

secondtimemumma · 23/11/2023 12:26

How long do you use the bear for in the morning and do you have to use it everyday to notice a difference? Thanks

CampervanKween · 23/11/2023 12:53

I use mine every morning whilst I'm making the beds and tidying around upstairs. I have made that part of my daily routine along with a red LED mask. I'm 54 and face needs all the help it can get!

If you have sensitive, easily reddened skin, Aveeno Calm and Restore is brilliant.

Babyliss rotating hair dryer brush 40mm.

First read about them here on MN some years ago - originally had the 50mm.

A game-changer for me as have poker straight lifeless hair and I'm useless at blow drying using a brush and hairdryer. I can get volume and a bit of a bounce with minimal effort!

There are two types. Semi cured need a lamp. I've seen them for about £20 on Amazon.

I won't recommend any because I keep getting accused of doing an ad. The ones I am using are semi cured and need a uv lamp but the wraps are apparently just like normal polish and don't need a lamp. It was £8 for 20 stickers. I did my fingers and toes. And because I keep my nails short, I could cut them in half so I still have a set spare. Basically a £4 manicure.

There are some online for a pound, some cost around £20. I'm just going to try a few different ones.
