MIL funeral

Unfortunately I am dress shopping for my mother in laws funeral and was looking for some help.
I'm a size 12/14 & conscious of my tummy area.
My MiL was always well presented, elegant & well groomed and I want to wear something to honour that.
It will be a traditional dress code but that doesn't mean it has to be black. I've seen a couple of dresses on M&S but thought I'd ask on here. Budget up to £100 I would say & ideally I'd like to be able to wear it again.

Also if anyone has any thoughts on something for a 12yo girl who lives in leggings and hoodies that would be a massive help.

Would something like this do for your daughter? Navy velvet better than black?

I'm sorry you're having ti shop for this.

Thanks for the replies. I love that Gina Bacconi dress it's beautiful.

@tinselvestsparklepants thank you for your kind words. It's very sad and unexpected so it sort of doesn't feel okay to be shopping but I want to wear something nice for her x
I'll show my DD that link thank you. I honestly don't know wear to start with her outfit x

I'd get a dark trouser suit for the child; she can repurpose it in future.

hby9628 · 20/11/2023 23:34

@LaurieStrode thanks I'll have a look at trouser suits

I bet her gran would like that with a pretty blouse or knit top, and shoes, and a scarf. Age appropriate but "grown up" and elegant.

Sorry about your loss. 💐

I know what you mean about whether shopping and thinking about clothes feels appropriate right now - but it's all a part of honouring your MIL. Don't worry about it. I hope you find something that you feel right in.

Oh thank you. I never thought of mango. I'll have a look through with her
