Rosacea skincare routine

i have some rosacea on 2 small patches on each cheek. I camouflage it pretty well but would prefer not to have to every day!

Does anyone have some decent skincare that actually bloody works? 😂

Open to more expensive options if there are actual results.

Husband has roseacea so we're experts ! Has been to consultant dermatologist for ir .use Nizoral shampoo and allow bubbles on face . Canesten HC cream very small amount. Rosalique green rosacea cream again very small amount . No soap on skin . He finds it best to vary the treatment or the skin gets used to it . Hope that helps !

Soolantra completely got rid of the patch on my cheeks. Use it maybe once a year now to keep it at bay.

ottieottilie · 19/11/2023 13:19

I would get a prescription for rosex or soolantra and then only use after a flare up, which is what I did.

I tried the subscription things but they're mixed with other things and I don't want to use them every day permanently. They also dried my skin out and made it dull. I have rather good skin aside from occasional rosacea outbreaks.

I'm wondering if sugar is connected to outbreaks. I haven't had much chocolate this week and my skin is wonderful 😞. I hope it's just coincidence.

Had brimonidine and the Azelaic Acid 20% but in the end it’s always a hefty dose of antibiotics that gets it back under control for me then La Roche Posay products to keep it at bay until the nexr time….

Thanks all.

Did you find it easy to get a prescription? I dread trying to get an appointment at the sodding GP 🙈

I got a prescription from an online pharmacy (they asked for a photo). I think I paid around £28.00 in total, but it will last ages I think (not needing to use at the moment).

I’ve applied for a prescription for rosex from Boots. Was £25 - hoping it is prescribed and I can get it soon!

It’s at the stage where I can cover it with makeup (Dr Jart thank you!) but also I cba and it wears off throughout the day. Just not shifting!

How quickly did roses work?

OP posts:
bingohandjob · 20/11/2023 20:38

I was prescribed Rozex last week for two small patches of rosacea on my cheeks that had sprung up following a period of intense stress (have never had it before) and it's working already and made a dramatic difference within just 6 days.

Pinkyzstar · 23/11/2023 14:07

I get the nizral shampoo from skinorac, it's quite economical for rosacea

ottieottilie · 23/11/2023 16:56

A couple of weeks I think for rosex to start to clear up I think.

@Pinkyzstar do you use it like a face wash?

Pinkyzstar · 24/11/2023 13:50

Yes definitely I use face wash twice a day because I follow a tret routine from skinorac so I use it along with some moisturisers.
