An 'inexpensive but nice' treats list like nice bodylotion that won't bankrupt me...

Have just been hovering over a Jo Loves bodylotion (for me!) and realised that I just can't afford to spend £40 on a lotion, and definitely nothing on a perfume.

Which inspired me to start a thread. Been loving the Christmas Stylist thread so much, but it's also a time of year where I suddenly realise after work/kids/school etc that I actually might have a couple of sparkling top at least type occasions and would love to look nice and smell nice.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice bodylotion that smells nice and not sweet floraly? I know there are thousands of solutions in high-end brands, but I would love something that is reasonable and less pricey.

Am sick of the aldi/lidl lime basil mandarin smells, but I guess that's the vibe I'm after. Anything lovely in superdrug or boots?

Also, any great primers available at superdrug that will make me look glowy but NOT like the disco ball itself in terms of glitter?

I sometimes buy the Narciso Rodriguez body lotion 'For her', when o don't want to shell out for the perfume. It's a great smell and last time I bought it was around £20 for the bottle. I think I might like it more than the perfume.

Failing that, I always love Bodyshop Shea butter.

Before bed I love M&S Sleep body butter with lavender, eucalyptus and Jasmine, for daytimes anything with Lemongrass/ green tea (currently finishing off one I got in Canada in the summer)

L’occitane almond

For body lotion, I like the Soap & Glory Righteous Body Butter, Sukin Bergamot & Patchouli Body Lotion both under a tenner, or if I am feeling flash the Liz Earle Energise and Glow Body Lotion - under £20.

I usually buy stuff from beauty outlet.Co.uk or direct cosmetics.com - you get genuine brand names at huge discounts!

I actually like the Aveeno one (pump actuon) that is a cream oil. Smells Almondy.

Number 7 stuff is so so good - all the face stuff and bath range is honestly excellent and I’m a skin care snob!

Almahart · 18/11/2023 13:15

M&S Fragrance Society stuff is nice, most of it isn't too sweet

Queucumber · 18/11/2023 13:19

I don’t use them but Molton Brown body lotion is £24 for 300ml (on offer) at John Lewis at the moment

I love & Other Stories' Sicilian Sunrise range - the tub of body cream is lovely. Often on offer/with discount direct or via ASOS.

Revolution brand beauty products are reasonably priced, not tested on animals and amazing quality! Super drug stocks them and they have a great online store.

I like the Sanctuary range which you can get in Boots and Superdrug. There will probably be gift sets in both of these shops.

This is amazing! Off for a shop next week to have a sniff at a few things.

I love the Soap & Glory body butters. Smell great.
