Keep or Return? Accessories?

Hi everyone, I can't decide whether to keep or return this dress (not in UK). I am 52, 5'3", 34B, size 10-12, pear shaped with a bit of a tummy and biiiig butt.
I appreciate this dress may be a bit frumpy for some. I live in a hot weather country so will not get a lot of use out of it, but it hides my lumps and bumps beautifully, so I am sorely tempted to keep it.
Opinions welcome. Also, if I do keep it, how do I accessorise it? I doubt my ability to carry off a carelessly knotted scarf, so maybe some sort of necklace? Plus I really feel the cold so legs have to be covered (tights/ stockings/ leggings?).
I am not in the UK so shopping links wont help but I can look at images for inspiration. Help please!

Is it a sweater dress? It’s difficult to tell from the photo.
I like it. Nice basic shape that suits your figure. I’d accessorise with knee length boots. If wanting a necklace I think something longer rather than choker length.

It suits you and looks like one you would get a lot of wear from.
I'd wear it with opaque tights and knee-length or ankle boots.
Add a brooch or something.
