Growing out a pixie

I have a short pixie and want to grow it out but also know how awful it will look. My hair is also wavy which doesn't help. Any tips?

My Dd grew hers out fairly recently. She used a few diamanté hair clips and and an Aveda product for defrizzing hair ( as her hair is also wavy). Honestly it looked lovely at every length. She didn’t go for the obvious keep trimming it to a bob length as she felt that would ‘stick out’ and be too full!
