December wedding

Trying to find a dress to wear.
I am 5ft5, and very over weight.

My weight is all on my tummy and boobs. Legs are pretty ok even if I say so myself ! I have pale skin.
I am 54.
Question - I quite like this dress here - https://www.boohoo.com/plus-tonal-ombre-plisse-twist-midi-dress/GZZ27372.html
But do you think long brown boots would go with it? I have a lovely brown woolly shawl I could wear too.
What do you think?
Thank you.

The dress is lovely but not with brown boots and a wooly shawl for a wedding. Unless it's in a barn.

What sort of wedding is it?

What size are you?

What is the most you could spend?

Really sorry but the dress you’ve linked has great potential to look cheap and just a bit tacky. £36 in polyester will definitely mean thin fabric, and the elastane will make it clingy. If you notice, the model is wearing a larger size than one normally would. If you buy your normal size you may well be disappointed.

(And the colours just seem weird for December!)

Thanks all. I am dreadful with clothes! Not that one then!
I am a size 20. But out of proportion. All tummy and boobs.
I am a very conservative (not politically!!) sort of person. So nothing too eye catching if you know what I mean. Thank you.

You haven’t given a budget!

@SomethingMustBeScaringThemAway
Argh! Sorry! up to £150 would be fine.
Thank you for helping!

I wasn't sure about black for a wedding. Is it ok to wear black? (I live in black or grey clothes usually!)

You’ll have to ask the bride! (I think it’s fine, but it’s not my wedding.) Don’t know if any of the other Beyond Nine dresses would work.

In the hope that these might be quite roomy - so you could fit into an 18. If they’re your type of thing you could make one look quite grand with grooming and jewels and smart shoes.

It's a bit dull for a wedding, but you say you prefer to dress conservatively so why not? Red lippy updo fancy shoes and bag will all jazz it upand you can wear it again afterwards
