Tragus piercing advice needed please

I've been considering a tragus piercing for some time, and having been given a voucher I'm thinking of going ahead with it. I got a second lobe piercing a few months ago, which I love - so those are the piercings I currently have. I would like some advice though please.

I think I only want one ear pierced with the tragus piercing. That's fine isn't it? I'm guessing will have to be with a needle? Also not sure whether internally threaded would be better for this piercing? And I wear earphones regularly for sport, so hoping that's still possible while healing?

I have just 1 tragus pierced, in fact apart from my 2 lobes are my piercings are 'singles'.

They are usually and should be pierced by needle, it is a fairly painless piercing, but can take a while to heal.

In relation to ear plugs/buds, my ear buds do irritate a bit even though it is healed, if you are wearing ear plugs that go in your inner ear you may fair better, but maybe ask for a flat back labret bar as mine has a ball front and back and that is where my ear buds push onto to irritate.

Yes to one ear having a tragus piercing, I’ve got my tragus done on my right ear (and a daith on the left to even me out but I don’t think that’s necessary!).

Piercer will use a needle, but it’s not particularly painful. You may hear a popping sound as the needle goes through. My piercer offered me a bar or a ring for jewellery and I went for the bar, and I’ve changed it myself a couple of times with relative ease.

In terms of headphones, in ear headphones were quite difficult for a little while because it stung a bit when they were initially put in my ear, but manageable! Hurts like hell if you knock it when it’s newly pierced with a headphone in though (over ear ones aren’t much better as it just crushes your new piercing).

I love mine now and it didn’t take too long to heal, but it was definitely annoying with headphones for a bit!

I have a tragus piercing and love it but it is a bit annoying with ear buds. I also have a forward helix piercing which looks similar but because it's on the outside isn't affected by in ear headphones. Google a photo. Maybe that might be am option for you? And yeah I think it's pretty usual to not have matching piercings unless they're lobes.

Thanks all!

Though I'm seriously considering the forward helix instead now @Roundandroundandroundsound

Well both look great in my opinion so I'm sure you'll be happy either way :)
