Something sparkly

I'm a bit clueless and could use some suggestions please. I've been invited to a party which will be pretty low key ie chatting and scoffing rather than drinking and dancing on tables but the dress code is sparkly . I live in black jumpers and combats or jeans. I'm in my sixties, size 14, and just want some token sparkle without feeling like I've dressed up as a Christmas tree. Any ideas please? Also budget is under £50

I have one very similar to this (except much cheaper, think mine was from Tu but I can't find it online), if you usually wear just plain black its a nice subtle touch of sparkle.

I’ve just got a sparkly top from vinted for Xmas meals out for a few quid! I’d say look on there for a top to go with trousers you already have :)

Yes Vinted is the perfect place for sequins. Just been out dancing 💃 wearing a sparkly jumpsuit I got from there for £4. Loads of people complimented my outfit, I will definitely wear it again.

I looked hard at Option 2 (blue sequined shirt) when I ordered my beauty advent calendar. That's something I would wear to a Christmas dinner/even with black jeans and won't go 'out' as quickly as so many of these puffed sleeve tops that are popular right now.

Option 3 is definitely a nice choice, too.

How about a brooch, that’s my default ‘sparkly’ item.

You can also tie a small piece of tinsel around a brooch, or use a Christmas themed brooch and do the same- to add more sparkle.

Amaz on sell sequin cuffs in different colours, you can add to a jumper or top you already have to make it look sparkly, for less than a fiver.

I’d go with a sparky bag and maybe a sparkly knitted type top with my “good jeans”
