Elemis?

Does anyone use Elemis products?

| have a marine cream on my wish list for when I run out, which is no time soon as I am on the beauty hoarders thread ;)

I currently use Skin & Me Tretonoin, which has made my skin amazing, but I need skincare on top of this. I can't use anything on top with retinoids. I use La Roche Posay Toleraine, which is very good and I've no complaints. I've also got a pot of Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream on the go, which is OK, but won't buy again.

Someone told me the marine cream is like La Mer, which I have used, but it didn't do it's cost of £250 of amazement on my face.

Any feedback on Elemis before I take out a mortgage to buy it?

i've tried it. too rich for me. it's not worth it in my opinion. La Roche is what my derm recommends and is better my skin. i would save your money !

YorkieTheRabbit · 08/11/2023 08:58

I use Elemis cleansing balm and the marine cream, love them both.
I can’t say if it’s similar to La Mer as I’ve not tried it.

YorkieTheRabbit

The Marine Cream is meant to have very similar ingredients to La Mer

I love all of the Elemis pro collagen creams and balms - they're so silky on my skin and tbh the dupes are alright but the originals are the best.

La Mer is lovely, but the £££ is just not good I end up thinking I could go for a nice meal for the same money 😂 maybe when I'm a bit older I'll splurge more often on it, but I didn't find it totally revolutionary.

MimiArm · 08/11/2023 09:23

@TisTheSeasonToLebkuchen I've used the marine cream in the past and did really like it.

Have you tried Liz Earle Superskin moisturiser? IMO it's better than the marine cream (also slightly cheaper) but it seems to work on most skin types (family members of mine swear by it when nothing else works).

I've just started using it (and I also use Skin and Me for rosacea, and La Roche-Posay Toleriane for random dry patches on my eyelids that have appeared post natal!

peachescariad · 08/11/2023 09:27

I use Elemis marine collagen cream...that's the only Elemis product I use.
I love it and and so does my skin. Skin always feels soft after using. Expensive but now at 57 I'm able to treat myself.

massistar · 08/11/2023 09:27

I love Elemis. Been using it for ages. I occasionally dip out and try other moisturisers but always end up going back to it. I always buy from QVC as you get a bunch of extra stuff with it. The pre launch offer on at the moment is a bargain at £65.

Have a look at Haeckels Eco Marine cream and see if that might work for you:

https://haeckels.co.uk/product/eco-marine-cream/

I'm less of an Elemis fan these days, ever since they were bought by a private equity firm. They've been sold (again) to L'Occitane so maybe they'll go back to a product (rather than profit) focus. I hope so.

I got fed up with them as 1) they discontinued quite a lot of good products (such as SOS Emergency Relief cream) and 2)the quality seemed to reduce.

I still buy Frangipani Monoi Shower Cream as a treat as I love the smell but I've moved on to better quality/value skincare (such as Haeckels) these days.

Haeckels Eco Marine Cream | 60mL

A light daily facial moisturising cream, packed with antioxidants and seaweed extracts to visibly hydrate and rejuvenate the skin.

Oh bugger it 😝I just bought the QVC Elemis offer.

I'm sick, and feeling down as I can't go the gym and burn off the menopause jitters, so this can cheer me up.

So much for being on the hoarders anon thread and trying to cull everything. TBH, I have culled, and will need to replace soon, so it's ok (keep telling myself)

Hmm, now off to check out the Liz Earle moisturiser just recommended 🙄

I swapped from Clarins to Elemis 2 years ago and my skin has never looked better, I use the face wash, day and night cream plus a couple of other bits. I’m early 60s and really think it’s the best !

Enjoy!! Which one did you go for? My favourite is the Warm Tonka and Vanilla Bean.

Steiner Leisure own Elemis (or did) and dd is friends with the family so I've been given the odd gift.. if I'm honest I don't think much of their facial products and wouldn't buy them myself.. lots of cruise ships seem to stock Elemis in their salons

Ibizafun · 08/11/2023 15:16

Although reading some of these comments perhaps I should try again!

Steiner sold them 4 years ago.

Ibizafun · 08/11/2023 15:18

Maybe the products have improved then

IDoNotMoisturise · 08/11/2023 15:19

I tried the marine cream, its stinks and its not a nice smell.

IDoNotMoisturise · 08/11/2023 15:23

and I avoid Liz Earle like the plague, I used to be able to use whatever I wanted but when I tried Liz Earle I got allergic conjunctivitis from their moisturiser and my eyes are so sensitive now that I cannot use anything on my face, as over the day it seems to seep into my eyes and makes them very itchy and sore, cannot even wear makeup now

TisTheSeasonToLebkuchen · 08/11/2023 15:30

Ohh I was tempted by the vanilla one massistar, but the frangipani and coconut was calling to me.

I used to use Elemis but now use Liz Earle or Clinique. I don't know why I just got bored with Elemis .

purplesmiler · 08/11/2023 15:44

I use a few Elemis products including the marine cream. I have tried others but always come back to Elemis. I get compliments about my skin when using Elemis and it feels lovely on my skin. I buy from QVC as the offers are very good.

QuickHealthNC · 08/11/2023 15:50

Strangely, my skin has never been drier than when I am using marine cream!

Tracker1234 · 08/11/2023 19:14

If you use Top Cashback you should be able to get circa 8-10% off too. Those Elemis QVC sets are very good value but whether you would buy their shower cream as a stand alone is not clear.
