Has anyone got this jacket from Uniqlo?

I am looking for a jacket which is warm but lightweight to do in and out of the shops and a couple of winter, European city breaks I have in later this month and February. I am just wondering if they are warm enough? I’ll layer underneath but I don’t want anything bulky or padded. Marks and Spencer have something similar with their heatgen range. Thanks.

Ultra Light Down Compact Jacket | UNIQLO UK

Think of the compact jacket as a cardigan: wear it on its own on milder days, or under heavier outerwear when it gets colder. The unique adjustable two-way collar allows you to create a crew or V neck design, while premium down with a fill power of 750...

I’d say no, not warm enough if you’re planning it as your main coat/jacket. It works well as a layer under another coat. Though I suppose it depends where your city breaks are, it’s certainly not warm enough for central or Northern Europe in winter

I've got this jacket. I really feel the cold so I bought it as an extra layer for under winter coats (UK southeast).
It's really good but I'm not sure I'd wear it on its own in February.

Thanks. This is helpful. I’ll keep looking.

I agree with the above. I bought the same, but with collar, a few years ago for the same reason. However my breaks were more October and March so warmer, and I'd made sure I could wear a thin fleece underneath for the evenings as well.

It's a brilliant compact jacket for when it's unexpectedly chilly, but not as a main coat for wintery weather.

It states in the description to think of it as a cardigan.

The Tog 24 has a version that is warm enough to wear. Mine folds into a pocket so no separate bag. You need a waterproof layer in case of rain though with both jackets.

Thank you. I do like their stuff. My big coat is from there. I have a jacket similar but I was hoping to get something a little bit smarter looking than a standard puffer jacket if that makes sense.

Didn’t even think to read! Thanks.

The jacket won't keep you warm as it doesn't have a collar or cuffs.

Chipsahoyagain · 08/11/2023 09:15

I have that one op and use it under wool coats. It's not warm enough though as a jacket. There are others that are lovely and warm

Only with thermals / cashmere layers under.
