Casual handbag

Hello ladies

Can anyone recommend a nice casual but structured handbag for everyday use?

I've been searching and not coming up with anything.

I'm 42 and have a young toddler so would like room for purse, phone, keys, tissues, small brolly and the odd toddler item (drinking cup, snack, hat).

I will admit that I do have expensive bag tastes. I wear the cheapest of clothes but I'm a sucker for expensive bags! I've been using my Mulberry mini Alexa for ages but it's just too small for all I need to carry. I also have the small Millie tote which is great size wise, but I'm longing for compartments. When I use the Millie, I'm rummaging for things as everything is just loaded in together and I hate that.

A few that I've seen that I like the style of are attached. I tend to dress very casually and so smart "work" type bags aren't what I'm after but I don't want anything too casual either. I work from home so don't need such a smart bag. The ones I've attached pics of - I don't love the colours of the coach or Kate spade bags. I'd lean more to the Kate spade one if it had a colour I like.

The bags I have are neutral in colour and so I was thinking either tan or navy (my casual coats are navy and dark green).

Can anyone suggest something? 😁 (price range 0-500 max - I'm not a snob so if someone recommends something at £30 I'll happily consider it!).

I have that chloe one - I'd say its not big enough for what you are after. I do really like it though - I have it in a gorgeous chocolate brown colour.

When my kids were younger I loved my proenza schouler cross body. The PS1 model - looks a bit like a satchel but much softer. I have the smaller size (not the tiny one) and it is still holding up really well.

Fit loads in without being massive, can go cross body as well as over the shoulder. Also has a top handle. Has different sections inside and out (on the back).

Comes in loads of colours too. It looks more like the chloe one you have pictured than the other two.

Totally recommend Coach bags. The leather is great. I wouldn’t recommend that particular Kate Spade bag as I think you need rings to attach the handle to the bag or some kind of metal rather than just leather.

Thanks @TotallyFloored and @IloveJudgeJudy .

I'm gonna go and see the Coach one in real life to see how it feels and the size, etc.

@TotallyFloored I had a look at the bag you recommended but it's way over my budget. Nice bag though! Thanks also for commenting on the size of the See by Chloe one. I worried it was a bit small so you've confirmed it for me.

I have found another contender (see pic) if Coach doesn't pan out.

I like the Kerikit bags kerikit.com/
Great quality, easy to organise.

Longchamp pliage? They hold so much, few different sizes too. I have the back pack which I use all the time, good for when I'm out with the kids. The totes hold a lot too and are very light. I was looking at the coach one you posted too. My sister in law got a lovely bucket bag from LK bennet but it was a while ago now. I love bags! L

If your current bag annoys you because it lacks compartments, you can buy handbag organisers to slot inside.
Obviously I'd still buy another handbag as well Wink
