I need help with shoes!

Just that really! I've found a dress that I'm happy with for my works Christmas do but the problem is the shoes as I'm not convinced anything I have goes well.

  1. Strappy sandals, bare legs. I think this option looks the best but bearing in mind it will be cold! I'd also need to get a decent spray tan
  1. Heeled boots, this is my least favourite look as i tnink it looks frumpy? (I'm 34)
  1. Finally, bare legs or sheer tights with grungy style boots. I love these boots but I'm not convinced as I don't think they look flattering with this style of dress. They would be the most comfy and warmer option though!

Or if anyone else has any suggestions ?

Help please 🙏 I'd like to keep the dress as I've struggled with my weight recently and this I feel comfortable in

The Christmas do is a nice meal in city centre with drinks afterwards.

I'm with you OP, nude coloured tights are really naff. Matte ones slightly better than sheen but still just remind me of something my granny would wear! I just hate all tights though haha, would always go bare legs given the option (even if it's tacky 😉)

Chunky boots and bare legs looks great. The black tights and ankle boots is grumpy on you.

I get stuck with this too - I'm very tall already and feel too leggy in sandals (plus, it's WINTER hello???)

I like the chunky boots & jacket.

I don't think people really flow these lines of convention anymore, so they?

Yes I completely agree the ankle boots look is frumpy to me, i feel like it adds years to my age! They might not look so bad with opaque tights but I didn't have any to try. The chunky boots and jacket is definitely a younger, trendier look but I just wasn't sure If I could pull it off.

Bare legs per se are not naff but I think a bit unbalanced with this particular dress.

The leather jacket covers up the shape of the dress too much.

Thick tights and chunky sandals def the coolest look!

Who says nude tights? Dark grey sheer ones. Bare legs in winter is always ? Maybe in some areas it’s the norm but most smart women don’t where I go. Thicker tights if you wish.

Someone suggested nude but I really don't like nude tights! I've ordered some sheer in a dark grey and nearly black and I will see how they look with what I have, otherwise it might be an excuse for new shoes

Yay!! Get the new shoes! I am too old for platforms but lots around! Mary Jane style. These are expensive but you get the idea. With great legs, why not. Good under jeans too.
