What to do about boots that pull my socks down?!

I bought some new lined, waterproof boots for winter dog walking. They’re very cosy and I love them.

BUT they pull my socks down as I walk! I can only get around this by tucking my socks over my trousers, which isn’t ideal.

Any advice?

I think you just have to get different socks. I wear knee socks with boots that do that.

If there's a way to reduce the friction on the heel, I'd like to know!

Yes, I wear knee socks with wellies as I have the same problem.

Longer socks and/or fols the socks over the top of your boots.

God this drives me nuts.

I had the same with M&S socks & boots. Elastic that held them up was rubbish. I’ve switched to Uniglo socks & they are much better quality.

Proper walking socks..

Two layer walking socks or just a thinner pair of cotton/bamboo ankle socks underneath the thicker/warmer ones, preferably longer/knee high. I find that stops it with the certain boots that I have which do it. Bonus is warmer feet! I always double up in the winter anyway!

If they’re laced boots, do them up much tighter, it stops the movement pulling the sock down

I wear John Lewis knee-length welly socks over my trousers and sometimes fold over the top of my wellies. I can't imagine I'm going to win any fashion awards but it solves the problem and the dog doesn't seem to care!
