Ring too big advice

sarahh96 · 05/11/2023 15:25

I've recently been gifted a rather nice full eternity ring. It does fit but it's a little looser than my other rings. Has anyone used those little ring guard thingys from amazon etc?
I thought it would be an easy find but there's so much choice I'm completely confused now.
I almost need a little buffer to just make it a tad tighter.
Help??

Bumping as I would also like to know! I had my engagement ring made bigger when I got married and have now lost 2 and a half stone they are both too big! What a lovely thing to have been gifted OP!

I have some of those ones that look like clear rubbery springs and they work well on my diamond ring. I'm not sure how good they'd look on a full eternity ring though. A jeweller can put bumps on the inside to resize a ring though.

Take it to a little independent jewellers. They will be able to fit something ( a teeny bar or little balls ) to reduce the internal size

I haven't used one but when I got my engagement ring 5 years ago it was to big, took it to the jewellers and had it resized. Took less than a week and was under £20.

@SoupDragon yes I saw the wiggly things, they won't work I'm afraid. There's also some little flat clear things but you buy a pack and only one size would fit. Thinking about wearing a very thin ring on top to anchor it but then it could look ridiculous. How can such a beautiful ring cause this much stress 😂.

@ohyesohyesoh thank you. Thinks that's going to be the answer

I’ve tried various styles of these ring keepers and not one of them worked or was comfortable. Your best bet is what @ohyesohyesoh has suggested

I would ask at the place it was bought from or an independent jeweller, full eternity rings are tricky to resize but not always impossible.

Sometimes small "beads" of metal can be attached inside the band, or D-shape "sleeping policeman" to hold the ring in place (it doesnt alter the look of the ring at all)

Sorry I see @ohyesohyesoh has explained with pic while I was multi tasking typing my reply!!
