Cleanser and Toner Recommendations

Feel like going old school and using a cleanser and toner. By toner, I don't mean on of those glowy ones, just a toner that finishes off a cleansing regime. My skin can be quite sensitive. This cleanser/toner combo seems out of favour. Does anyone have any recommendations? (I don't like hot cloth cleanser, at the moment I use a swipe of Micellar water and a creamy rinse off but I am bored with them.)

I have used a Clarins combo before, but they felt a bit irritating (alpine milk). I like the look of a Decleor duo but I think Decleor seems to have gone out of business.

Liz Earle.

I use body shop camomile butter cleanser and the toner. Really nice and doesn't irritate my skin

Not keen on Liz Earle cleanser, my skin reacts. I have used to Body Shop one before and like it, but can't find the matching toner online. I notice the Body Shop does a Vitamin E cleanser and toner. Anyone used those?

Sorry it's the aloe toner I use!

I tend to use Garnier Skin Active Rose cleanser and toner. Or similar. I’ve tried more expensive ones like Clarins but to be honest Garnier are just as good.

I like the Clinique liquid soap and clarifying lotion (which despite the name is definitely a toner). There’s a choice depending on your skin type.

I’m quite similar to you re sensitive skin and find my skin suits cleanse and tone. Mornings now I just wash with normal soap (currently honey) and my skin looks no different and even dare I say it, better than when I used an actual face wash.

Isn’t the Clinique clarifying lotion very harsh on your skin? It always was when I used it back in my 20s.

There’s 5 different ones.. I used the one for dry skin, there’s also a newer one that’s for sensitive skin. I didn’t find it particularly harsh but the others may be.

I rate the clarins toner. The yellow one in a bottle. I have sensitive skin and it doesn't irritate.

I remember it being like paint stripper. Hopefully they have improved it

Same here - just as good as higher end ones.

I use vitamin C micellar water (i think its Garnier) and then vitamin C toner, which is Boots own brand.

BettyBakesCakes · 05/11/2023 21:10

Another vote here for body shop camomile cleanser. I use Superdrug naturally radiant toner.

AzureBlue99 · 05/11/2023 22:46

I have actually used the Garnier rose cleanser before. It was okay. However the toner made my skin react.

I'm loving 'in the beginning' cleanser by temple spa and their regular toner.
