I have been given a new stronger prescription for my reading glasses. I am not going to fork out for Specsavers. Where can I buy nice cheap prescription glasses online?

I'd like to know this too.

But firstly I'd like to know how you got your prescription without having to buy the glasses!

No obligation to buy glasses after an eye test.
Try Glasses Direct or Goggles4U - ignore the name!

I have bought from both.

I went to Specsavers and had an eye test, I paid £25 and asked for my prescription. They do try to get you to buy their glasses and often place a tray on your hands as you exit the test area back into the shop. You just need to say that you're not buying and can you just have your prescription. You're entitled to it.

In the past I have been caught in the moment and ended up buying 2 pairs because they offer this that and the other, but have felt utterly sick at having to pay £400 for them which is what they come up to once they've added all the extras. Now I get my prescription and pay around £40 online.

Goodlookers are fantastic for reading glasses. They also do varifocal ones- so clear at the top meaning you don't have to constantly take them on and off.
