Winter wedding outfit - please help!

I'm looking for a winter wedding evening guest outfit, that I could potentially wear to a Christmas do and Christmas day. Budget around £50 but I'll stretch for a wow option.

I'm late 40s, 5'5 and a 16. Pale, pinky skin tone with blonde (greying!) bobbed hair.

I'm looking at dresses but would be up for top and skirt or trousers. Nothing above knee length and prefer 3/4 or long sleeves as I hate my arms.

I tend to suit empire or wrap style on my pear shape bod.

I've been looking for ages but the choice is overwhelming and I'm not sure what's in anymore!

Please could you share any of your finds that might suit?

Thank you mumsnetters!

For my brothers winter wedding I wore a dark red midi dress in a lovely velvet fabric. ( I found it in a charity shop). I got some leopard boots to go with it. I’ve had a look on Vinted and they do have a few velvet dresses. If I was going now I’d probably buy a velvet trouser suit because I’d probably wear the separates more than a dress but I’m not sure I’d you’ll pick one up for your budget.

Have a look on Pretty Kitty. They have the most flattering dresses ever.
