Trying to balance effectiveness with price, mainly for facial hair. What's the best I can go for, without costing an arm and a leg?. Will go for the corded one, I hear that's better, but beyond that, no clue, and the price varies a lot. And, are there any good deals around at the moment?

They are all pretty much the same (I used to work in the industry). The only differences are the window size, the attachments you get and the number of flashes it does in its lifetime, though even the lowest number should be enough for most people.

I got the Braun version instead and had no issues with it. Was about half the price in an Amazon offer this time last year.

I got an older corded model in the argos sale and it worked fine. It had a bad review about a skin reaction but I have not had any issues. I do use it out of the shower with no products applied to skin as I believe you could have a reaction more if skin was not completely clean
