Or will you start opening in November?

Either way, it's not long now......time to make your choice (s).

I gave in!

Ooh, which one did you get? The Christmas one?
Looks really amazing value for what you get included. I am very tempted.

MavisMcMinty · 12/11/2023 12:15

I bought the OK Christmas box for £55 a few days ago, so their Black Friday deal is very annoying to me!

Oh really? Was it the same one they were sending emails about? I hadn’t looked into it until I clicked on the Black Friday link.

pinkchampagne1 · 12/11/2023 12:18

Looks like the Harrods advent is now out of stock too. They seem to be shifting them before discounting this year.

MidnightMeltdown · 12/11/2023 12:18

It looks like Harrods is now out of stock

Growlybear83 · 12/11/2023 12:20

I'm quite relieved about Harrods - I could feel myself weakening and I put it in my basket a couple of days ago 😆😆

I'm surprised that it didn't sell out earlier given how early they released it.

All the calendars that I bought are now out of stock so at least I know that I didn't miss a bargain! 😂

I think that Sephora may go next

It's an excellent calendar so I'm not surprised. Lots of tried and tested products if nothing overly exciting.

Yes, that’s the one - “£5 off for being such a special customer” - bah!

I’d buy the bundle to divvy it up for Christmas presents but sadly beauty gifts are my obsession rather than any of my friends or family.

I almost bought it too, but I'm actually a little disappointed now! Argh. I just couldn't justify it having already got F&M at that price point but it's a great calendar

Same here! 😆

pinkchampagne1 · 12/11/2023 12:51

I am also relieved each time one of the good calendars sells out as I worry I wouldn’t be strong enough to resist if they get heavily discounted. I already have the OK one (which I am opening this month), John Lewis for December and Fenwicks for after Christmas. I really don’t need any more temptation!

pinkchampagne1 · 12/11/2023 12:54

Harrods, Spacenk and Selfridges were all reduced at the end of November last year but this year all three have sold out before having to offer any discount

Yes and the calendars that sold out earlier last year (like Sephora and F&M) are still in stock this year!

The problem for me is that all the calendars that I haven't bought (except for LF) are still in stock, so the temptation is still there!

GracePalmer33 · 12/11/2023 13:10

I've bought the Elle calendar with it being discounted to £99.. it wasn't my favourite or nearly as good as last years but there are a few things in there that I really do like (eve lom cleanser, tatcha essence, candle, Laura Mercier setting spray and a few others) so it seemed worth it... BUT it's a bit weird this year in that you're actually paying for a years membership and the calendar is a "free gift" and in the terms and conditions in the email it said the free gift calendar will be sent to people who have signed up, within 28 days if stocks last..... I'm hoping stocks have lasted !!! ? Has anyone bought it in the last few days and received it ?

MidnightMeltdown · 12/11/2023 13:14

Oh I haven't bought Boots either and it looks like that's out of stock. It says 'stock coming' but I'd be surprised if they re-stock at this point in the year

That is very cheeky of them!

MavisMcMinty · 12/11/2023 13:26

I’m taking advantage of my current lack of smell (due to a cold or maybe Covid) to use up my Eve Lom cleansing balm because I loathe the smell of it usually! I have another unopened pot of it too, so if my smell doesn’t come back for a while I’ll use that and get the bloody stuff gone from my stash.

Does that mean you have to remember to end the subscription in time or else it rolls on for another year with money taken from your account?

Possimpible · 12/11/2023 14:06

@GracePalmer33 that is very cheeky of them, and in fact has put me right off for good. I assume you can only cancel your subscription within 14/28 days, so by the time you wait to find out if you're getting a calendar you might be committed. I think you'll be fine though, given they're discounting.

@FinallyFinalGirl I think that is the case, yes.

Wow. That IS cheeky. They're counting on people forgetting, because they will. Poor form, Elle. Poor form.

GracePalmer33 · 12/11/2023 14:21

@FinallyFinalGirl yes! When you are at the checkout it actually says something along the lines of "we want to make things simple for you and give you one less thing to remember, so we will automatically renew your subscription blablabla but you can cancel it by logging into your account blablabla" . I've set a reminder in my google calendar to cancel 😂😂

FinallyFinalGirl · 12/11/2023 14:23

Good for you, Grace. Don't let them stiff you!

And as if shoppers would fall for that...making it simple to help themselves to people's money, more like.

Watchingpaintdrying · 12/11/2023 16:20

I’m disappointed and relieved at the same time about Harrods. I wonder if they’ll get any returns?

diamondsandrose · 12/11/2023 16:38

Thank you for this !!
I just ordered the Big 3 bundle , works out £3.71 per item and it's all stuff I'd use or could gift
The Lisa Snowdon edit is giving me Jadvent vibes so I might keep that to one side for January
