Only ones I can find are frumpy, with slogans, busy prints and fall to bits.

LizziesTwin · 30/10/2023 07:24

White company

John lewis

I love Uniqlo pyjamas. Nice button through styles, or t-shirt ones. Comfy, wash well, no glitter/logos/cartoons.

I go to M&S for their cotton pyjama bottoms, in various colours. I saw some nice ones in White Stuff yesterday. They are everywhere now in the run up to Christmas right now.

p.s. 'frumpy' is a misogynistic, outdated word.

How is frumpy mysogynistic? Both men and women can be frumpy and OP just used it as an adjective to describe a particular look and feel. I don’t think there’s anything insulting about it.

Sainsbury's
Lands End
I used to like Gap PJ's. No ide whether they still do them

PerditaProvokesEnmity · 30/10/2023 07:44

I’m afraid the Yawn brand seems well named. Great intentions but my goodness, their designs are boring. Twee prints and disappointing proportions. But perhaps that’s just my perception?

Tiredandannoyed2023 · 30/10/2023 07:52

John Lewis. I had always found M&S PJ trousers shrink in length. I’ve bought from JL for years now and they are excellent.

shellyleppard · 30/10/2023 07:57

Yours clothing have some lovely PJ bottoms.

CatherineMaitland · 30/10/2023 08:48

Another rec. for Uniqlo - I mean I don't know if they are flattering exactly, but they are plain cotton navy shirt and trousers style with white trim and feel nice to wear. I've had one pair for a year and they seem to have held up well.

casuarinatree · 30/10/2023 08:50

Hush. I don't like the winter weight brushed cotton/ flannels ones as I find them too warm for all but the coldest weather but their printed cotton pjs are great.

RiotAndAlarum · 30/10/2023 09:10

Another vote for Lands End. The "brushed" cotton flannel is very soft, and the workmanship is good (no splitting seams). Sign up to alerts to get regular discount codes (which can be extremely generous - think 40% off listed price).

DupontsYellowDressingGown · 30/10/2023 09:49

Hush PJs used to be great but as with most of their other stuff the quality has dipped but the prices are a piss take.

I echo the Uniqlo, jigsaw (maybe saw on another thread, loads of PJ ones today), JL but would also like to suggest M&S mens and British Boxers. Range of price points there.

I have a couple of pairs of cyberjammies ones and the jersey top looked snabby quickly. I miss GAP for jammies.

Cantonet · 30/10/2023 09:49

Lots in H&M where you can select for cotton items only. Flannel pjs start appearing on the website around now for Christmas.

I love the Seasalt cotton jersey style PJs called Setting Sun. The trousers have pockets and the patterns are grown up. I've washed mine many times and they still look new. They are fab quality - far superior to anything in M&S - though much more expensive. I try to pick mine up I the sale if I can.

MotherWol · 30/10/2023 14:53

Their Nibs do cotton pyjamas in lovely prints - DD has the cheetah ones and I've got my eye on the peacock print.

TheShellBeach · 30/10/2023 14:55

Damart and Ambrose Wilson online.

cocksstrideintheevening · 30/10/2023 14:56

My next ones are 100% cotton last well, comfy, and have pockets. They are mostly tartan though.

startingoveragainagain · 30/10/2023 21:32

@MotherWol keep an eye on TKMaxx they often have Their Nibs.

tobee · 30/10/2023 21:55

Yes pyjamas are so irritatingly difficult to find.

I have similar needs to op. Plus they often have something cutsie like a bear or panda on them; and in pastel colours.

Why are women often given infantilising nightwear? These are often things a woman would never been seen dead wearing out and about - even if that were possible! Grin

tobee · 30/10/2023 21:58

A lot are also geared up for Christmas or are family matching ones.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 31/10/2023 07:40

@DupontsYellowDressingGown Gap are still around, just online only in the UK.

@tobee there are loads of pyjamas available. This thread proves just how many retailers sell them. There are plenty which are not cutsie, etc.

Elderflower14 · 31/10/2023 07:44

I have bought brushed cotton pj's at Primark and they last for ages!
