Dragon Diffusion Nantucket Bag

This bag pretty much ticks all the boxes of the bag I want. Tote, ethical, leather, not too heavy, will wear beautifully, decent price point, interesting, no showy label (but if you know, you’ll know kinda thing), lovely design etc.

Just wonder if anyone has experience of them and how they fare when it comes to quality? Stitching good? Doesn’t unravel etc? Will be buying online so caveat emptor and all that…Dragon Diffusion Nantucket

I was just going to suggest the Polène Cyme, but friskybivalves beat me to it. It's the perfect lightweight chuck around, really nice quality and beautifully understated. I use mine all the time and have pretty much abandoned most of my other bags.

Edited

Hah @CokeZeroForBreakfast - great minds think alike...

OP, I think the images for the cognac version of the Cyme show it off better. You can either have it 'basket-style' or tuck the ends in, with the little straps crossed, so it isn't so wide/long. And it has a little purse inside too.

I’ve got two Nantuckets. Love them (obviously, hence getting two colours…). I’d say that they definitely feel like more of a summery bag for me. I use my black one year-round but it’s very “open” and just not ideal in grim weather.

@friskybivalves and @CokeZeroForBreakfast now you’re talking!

That Polene bag is EXACTLY what I’m after - great styling (got a little ‘something’ going on), perfect price point (won’t be worried about chucking it about) and lovely colour.

SOLD! (When it comes back in stock).

Thank you both!

Result! I just hope they get it back in. The black is on pre- order for shipping on nov 22... the taupey colour is in stock - not so for the two browns though. Might be worth dropping them an email. Fingers crossed!

I was going to suggest Tustings for a tote bag and then I saw the Polene bags. Oh my! I’m in love 😍 Great recommendations! Good luck with your new purchase, Gonna!

I absolutely adore my dragon diffusion, gorgeousness

bunnybunnybunnybunny · 30/10/2023 08:40

The Polene bag linked is great! (And one I have also considered in the past)
May it comes back into stock really quickly 🤞🏻 @GonnaNeedABiggerBag

Love the Nantucket but agree it's more of a summer bag.

The Polene bags are gorgeous.

Another less expensive option for nice quality everyday bags is Madewell - there are lots of sizes/options. The Transport Tote is simple and timeless and they do a bucket version too. They don't look designer but get great reviews and seem to last.

Dragon Diffusion Nantucket Bag

The bag looks like a pickpocket's dream, as does the Polene. Do they have zipped compartments inside?

Jurassicpark1234 · 30/10/2023 11:46

I have the big Nantucket in dark brown and it is beautiful and versatile! I love it l. They have a St Christopher medallion stitched inside which I thought was a nice touch (I think he’s the patron saint of travel?)

Haven’t RTFT but OP have you seen Polene bags? https://uk.polene-paris.com/products/numero-douze-camel-graine?_gl=1fabeiv_up*MQ..&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqP2pBhDMARIsAJQ0Czp7kNHTNEtB6Fl3wg5OzohUCrkBtMD9pqSJEupfPcRVf8QhXN3X6iAaAqu3EALw_wcB

I have a DD bag and it’s lovely and not heavy! I use it more a summer bag though.

I have! Think that’s the one I’m decided on, based on a PP recommendation on the thread.

Not so keen on that - don’t like the lettering or zip but thank you.

I saw that! Lovely touch. Going to be my summer bag I reckon.

Mine has unravelled at the top (not the handles) and only worn for one spring/ summer. Dislike the lack of compartments too. It looks quite nice in the summer but it’s going back in storage til next year.

The Phoebe Philo collection has landed with some gorgeous bags… £6k though!
