Control/Smoothing underwear

Basically I need some knickers with a bit of control to just give me a better shape. i bought a lovely dress which is more fitted than I’d normally wear for a couple of Christmas nights out. I have no idea what the best ones are.
I’m a fairly slim size 10 with a little bit of a Tum.

My criteria are pretty simple…

1. Something that will not garrotte me
2. Something easy to get out of so I can pee stress free
3. ideally black and not Spanx length down to my knee

Does such a garment exist?

Also Next have some cotton blend shape wear but they are around mid thigh length

Thanks @Darknights19 those are too long for my dress. Next is an excellent shout though. I always forget it exists!

I bought snag high waisted knickers recently and they are great for smoothing.

in spite of some people on her seeing cotton as the holy grail, it has no stretch so nothing with a high cotton content is going to hold you. Likewise, an excess of lycra and/or spandex can become uncomfy and difficult when you want a wee, as well as creating lines where you don’t want them.

Have a look at H&M shapewear- I feel I've tried and tested all but have found their knickers to be the best

The M&S anti chafe shorts in a 10 would be enough- I often wear them under dresses just for smoothing as I have a similar shape.
