Help me find a flattering parka

Sorry if this has already been done. It's my birthday and I'be been going through some upset recently, and I need a parka. So I want an amazing parka to cheer myself up.

This is the kind of thing I'm looking for:

• A-line. Maybe there's a better description than A-line? What I mean is not fitted over the thighs (I really dislike those) but equally not tent like. Flattering, slimming, youthful.
• Not in a washed-out colour as those make me look ill. A deep green, burgundy, grey, etc, should work. I have cool skin tone, if that helps. I have too many black coats so ideally not black.
• Warm, although not like a duvet. I have a different coat for sub-zero, snowy days.
• I quite like a fishtail detail, but it's not essential.

I am 5'6", size 12. Can stretch to a generous budget for the right coat, although I don't subscribe to the theory that the higher the price, the better the coat.

I have similar requirements and I’m currently considering the seasalt plant hunter and the Sweaty Betty winter strike.

I have the Sweaty Betty Stride parka in dark green and it's fab. THey're now doing it in a thicker winter material as well.

I have a Patagonia one that’s pretty indestructible. Prices seem a bit steep now though. Mine must be about 7 years old because I got it for pushing the double buggy around in.

I'm toying with the idea of a Fatface Tiegan. It has the drawstring waist thing which is essential for me (need illusion of having a waist). Although ideally I would like a fur trimmed hood.

It's a bit straight over the thighs, though. Fatface Juno in teal may be more the shape you're looking for?

Thanks for the suggestions, some of these are great. I forgot to say I like the parka to be quite long. The Fat Face one looks brilliant but I wonder if it's warm enough, as it doesn't look as if it's padded?

Yes, the Fatface Juno one doesn't actually look very warm.

I'm looking for a longer one too, now (ordered the Fatface Tiegan but it just looked wrong because it was too short at the back, especially for the style of jeans I would usually wear it with). So let me know if you find any gems!

Currently looking at the Seasalt Plant Hunter, which is longer, with a fishtail. It's good but I can't really get excited about it. The search goes on...

I wanted one I could actually move in as I do a lot of running around and this isn’t constructing at all. It’s very generously sized through so you could size down.

Ignore me. It’s not warm which I see you wanted! I like that I can layer up underneath it though.

I love the Sweaty Betty Stride parka and would get it if only it was warm!

They are doing a warm version, but only in black unfortunately...

Seasalt Plant Hunter

I have the Seasalt Plant Hunter and I love it. In fact I’m onto my 2nd one. I bought it in Long, despite being 5’6”, so that I’ve got a wee bit of extra length to keep dry.

I've just bought this and I really like it. I'm shorter than you though, so it may not work.

@Bagofmaltesers ooh, actually ordering it in a Tall might actually make all the difference! A bit more length and swing and I can see it being fabulous.
