Heatless curlers??

FlibbidyFloob · 27/10/2023 17:21

Sorry to be a bit dim, and I know it all seems very self explanatory but I just can't seem to get the hang of it!
Has anyone found a foolproof way of using these heatless curling rod things?

Curls don't usually last in my hair when using heat so thought I'd give these a go and I just can't grasp it 😩
What's the best method to use? Any tips on making the curls last?

You mean these things?

don't you just wrap hair round?

my hair now won't hold a style without a ton of product. Annoying.

Your post made me worried a bit - I’ve just ordered heartless curlers from Amazon - yet to received them. Hope they are not as difficult and I have shoulder length hair… Will let you know when they arrive!

My heartless curler works well when my hair is slightly damp. I usually rough dry it to about 90% dry and find it holds the curl reasonably well when left in overnight or a few hours during the day.

Heatless curler, even!

RandomMess · 29/10/2023 17:52

My hair has to be damp, with a bit of product in and the curlers left in overnight/long time until bone dry.

Best thing to work is "rags" that make ringlets

FlibbidyFloob · 29/10/2023 21:17

@EmmaEmerald yes exactly those, I don't know whether I just don't have any patience or whether I just can't do it but my hair doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I can get one side wrapped around perfectly but the other side just doesn't want to know! 😫

@RandalsAunty sorry! 🙈 I don't really know anyone who uses them so haven't been able to get any actual opinions on them so please do update!

@LauraPausini how long do the curls seem to last for you? Do you find it any better than curls created with heat?

@RandomMess do you have your hair damp damp or close to dry like PP?

Also what products are everyone using? I've seen some things suggesting curling mousse but unsure of whether that would make it too too curly 🙃
Apologies for the 20 questions, just trying to figure out what works 🙈

I have long, thick hair and the curls last for most of the day. That said, I tend to brush the curl out with my fingers after I've taken out the curler so it is more of a defined wave anyway so probably less noticeable that it "drops".

I used to curl my hair with my straighteners but I find the heartless curler saves a lot of time. The curler I have is flat silk rather than a cylinder shape so it is comfortable to sleep in.
