Can anyone help as I'm fairly new to vinted..Bought an item, was listed as brand new it's arrived and its filthy, nothing like photos..seller isn't responding. It was posted via royal mail with just a stamp which isn't what I'm used to usually its evri or something where the seller marks to say item received and I have to confirm and if I don't in 2 days the money is released. All i have is a 'Mark Received' button.. this is the question, if I dont tick the Mark Received button will I get a refund that way? Or anything else I can do as I can't afford to not get the money back as it was to be a Christmas present for my daughter. Thanks

I think you can mark as received and then you have option to choose everything Ok or I have an issue.

roses2 · 27/10/2023 13:33

Claim it didn't arrive otherwise you will need to pay to post it back.

jadey1991 · 27/10/2023 13:35

Contavlct vinted via the app and show the the packaging and the item. Say you ate not happy with it and you want a refund

jadey1991 · 27/10/2023 13:36

Agree with this. If it was sent via royal mail and not signed for then they have no way of knowing if it was delivered. If you click on received then report a problem, you will have to pay to send it back before you get a refund.

Thanks...this is what I'm thinking if I just say it never came that seems to give sellers more rights than saying I have it but there's an issue...and I know I'll have to pay to return which will have to be registered to prove they have it...I'll just leave it a few days and see what happens

If you messaged the seller asking why it’s dirty you can’t claim it didn’t arrive.
They read the messages.

The problem is you stated you have tried to communicate woth the seller but they are not responding.

BuffaloCauliflower · 27/10/2023 15:24

You’ve already messaged the seller so you can’t say you haven’t received it. There should be a button to say there’s a problem? And say not as described

I just have a Mark as Received button if I click that does it give me an option to raise an issue? I'm getting no response from the seller I just don't want the funds to be released until its sorted out

Yes click mark as received then the next button let's you raise an issue

cocksstrideintheevening · 27/10/2023 15:32

You need to raise an issue. Funds won't be released until it is resolved but yes you will have to pay to return.

Is it an expensive item?

No don't mark as received... go to the help centre on the vinted app

ScarletWitchM · 27/10/2023 15:46

There is usually a button to click I have a problem - then you start a process with vinted to say what the issue is etc and they don’t pay out. Don’t mark as recieved

Saxendi · 27/10/2023 18:12

You need to click I have an issue button!

Vanillarose1 · 27/10/2023 19:13

Vinted are absolutely rubbish with this. I was furious when I bought a new, with tags cream dress and it arrived covered in brown stains. The photo cleverly concealed these.

I contacted the seller and they were nothing but rude, accusing me of doing it, despite the photo evidence.

Vinted did nothing even though I messaged them numerous times with evidence. I asked the seller to pay return postage and they refused. In the end I reached the end of the road and I told them I hope they enjoyed their stolen money and got the karma they deserved.

She had the cheek to give me a horrible review and call me a scammer which stung a bit!

I have had a couple of incidents where new items have been stained or damaged and the seller has just agreed to refund me and I disposed of the items. That's what a decent seller would do if it was a genuine error.

aliasd · 27/10/2023 22:56

This is what I'm worried about that I end up £30 out of pocket as the seller hasn't replied to my messages about how to resolve and they're clearly not very honest to sell the item in first place. It's frustrating that I have to pay to return when it's not my fault, they just sent it with a 2nd class stamp on I'll have to pay for recorded delivery to prove its been sent. I'm just going to leave it as not received and see what happens.

Thanks for everyone's help and comments x

I suppose you could say, if challenged that you haven't received the item you actually ordered, as this has no resemblance to what you agreed to purchase

aliasd · 17/11/2023 11:05

Just to update you all, I think maybe 2 weeks after the sale I got a message from vinted to see if I had the item, I said no, they contacted the seller, gave them 48 hours to reply and send postage proof, they didn't and then I got my money back..vinted mustn't of read my messages to seller to say i had the item and wasn't happy! And on a more positive note I bought the same item from someone else and its perfect so there's some good sellers out there!

Thanks for all your messages
