Returning Next swimwear

Anyone had any joy returning Next swimwear bought online? I bought 2 swimsuits in different sizes & when they arrived thought it was very odd they had no hygiene seal ….. when looking (& I had to look very hard!!!!) In the depths of their website t&cs it says no swimwear returns unless faulty!!!! Ffs Im so annoyed, it is not stated AT ALL when purchasing, & if this is the case I am now down 72 quid!!

Oh wow really?! I've taken kids swimwear back in the last couple of weeks with no issue at all if that's useful!

Ladybir4 · 26/10/2023 21:49

Thank you, that gives me some hope!
I just thought it was really weird they didn't have a hygiene seal, so looked up the returns policy & it says swimwear cannot be returned!
I will try of course, I would have thought under distance selling/online purchasing rules they had to refund, arghh I hope so!!

I wouldn't want to buy returned swimwear or underwear with no hygiene seal.

If you haven't tried them on try selling them on on ebay

Ladybir4 · 27/10/2023 07:14

Exactly neither would I, I wouldn't have bought them had it been in store! But I ordered them online, so didn't know they would arrive like this! So I feel like that should be Nexts problem not mine?

The exemption information re swimwear isn't even in the main returns policy, when you scroll to the end of that, there’s a separate policy titled ‘exemptions to refunds’ & if you then read that, its listed there.

I don't know of any other retailer that doesn't put hygiene strips in & allow refunds of swimwear. Fair enough if Id removed them, but they were never there!

I bought a swimsuit from Next earlier this year. I ordered several and sent the ones I didn't want back no issue at all. I can't recall whether they had hygiene strips though.

isitspringyet23 · 27/10/2023 07:34

I've also returned next swimwear .. multiple times.
always used the self return boxes in store and had no issue at all in getting the refunds applied to my account.

Brendabigbaps · 27/10/2023 07:45

I regularly order multiple cossies and return the ones that don’t fit well or offer enough support, never had an issue returning the unwanted ones

Amberlady · 27/10/2023 07:52

l bought a some swimwear in July and returned those I didn’t want without any issue. They did all have a hygiene seal though. I’ve just checked my Next account and swimwear isn’t mentioned in the exceptions. Are you sure what you’ve found related to the UK site?

StarlightLady · 27/10/2023 08:53

OP, let us know how you get on. If they argue it, stress that the seal wasn’t there.

l suspect more swimwear is bought on line than most things. In the “old days” 😂, swimwear was the biggest seller from catalogues.

I'd ask to return it as you can't tell if it's been previously worn as no hygiene strip. I find their help centre is good with these sorts of things if you phone them

LRobb · 21/12/2023 09:45

Can I ask how you got on with this return? I’ve just done the exact same thing ordering two costumes and noticed no hygiene strips and the small exclusion section of their returns after receiving them 😅

adultsizedogbed · 22/12/2023 19:27

I work there and wouldn't even look .. we process soook many returns daily that it would be impossible to check every item .

They will just get written off or sent to clearance after return so don't worry .

Go to one of the big stores and they have self service returns lockers so you can just do it on there ..

Honestly no hygiene strip is nothing compared to what we see 🙈🙈

I’m curious to know more! I always pack my returns really carefully.

adultsizedogbed · 23/12/2023 06:13

What do you want to know ? They all get re packed upstairs so don't forget ack them carefully
We do so many because of the account people order hundreds of pounds of stuff at a time ..

It's a hobby for a lot of people I think !

adultsizedogbed · 23/12/2023 06:15

In terms of grossness , anything you can think of and in terms of deceit they often put dirty stuff in new boxes etc to try and get it free ..

Changing rooms , now they are another story ! 🤦‍♀️🤮

yepmeagain · 23/12/2023 08:00

I returned swimwear from Snag and that didn't have a hygiene seal either. They were happy to take it back but it's a bit meh to not have one isn't it?

I wonder if it's the norm now?

Well I spoke to customer services on the phone who assured me it was fine, I could return them & they had put a ‘note on my account’ to say I had spoken to them & they had ok’d it

Took them to the store & apparently there is no such way of putting a note on my account & the shop couldnt check this - sales assistant wouldn't accept the explanation that they came with no hygiene strip so had to speak to manager, who then said none of them come with hygiene strips anymore 🥴 so refund was fine as long as they had labels on!

TLDR - I did get the refund! But the policy of no hygiene strips seems grim, dont know what happens to the returned items as theyll have been tried on!

Note I was quite stressed at the time & was probably overthinking massively (& Im quite germ/hygiene phobic so probably thought about it more than an average member of the public!)

OP posts:
adultsizedogbed · 23/12/2023 15:19

CS always say this . We can't access accounts on our tills ( obvs due to gdpr) but I think they mean they have written notes to that effect on their systems so if it gets rejected at some point you will still get a refund
