Long haul

Really struggling on what to wear on an up coming long haul flight. Flying premium, male work colleagues (if that’s relevant). Am always cold, very cold.

Best outfit without going shopping is sweaty Betty leggings, sports style top and a long line oversized jumper, black puma trainers. Would I be mad to wear the leggings?

Any other suggestions without spending a fortune on something I’ll never wear again?

just wear the leggings

i normally wear leggings/long sleeved tshirt on a long haul flight with trainers as its comfy

Supportyourlocal · 26/10/2023 21:04

What you said is perfect for a long haul flight.

Makingalivingfromthat · 26/10/2023 22:04

Sounds absolutely fine.

If you are worried about traveling with male work colleagues, concentrate your efforts on streamlining your hand luggage. You don’t want to be struggling with multiple pieces of hand luggage or doing with opening wheelie bags to get stuff out at security etc. Most of my male colleagues travel extremely light and have their electronics organised

That is exactly what I wear for long haul...and in all black in case of spillages.

Sybila · 27/10/2023 15:39

I wear similar but leather leggings so that when I spill my food and drinks it all wipes off 🤣

Mackeroo · 27/10/2023 15:41

Will you be wearing compression socks? That would put me off leggings as an option.

KevinDeBrioche · 27/10/2023 15:44

Sounds perfect. You don’t need to shop!

AllTheWatersTurnedToClouds · 27/10/2023 15:45

It’s always you warmer nearer the front

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/10/2023 16:11

Sounds exactly what I'd wear long haul!

GetUpAndGoHasGone · 27/10/2023 16:29

How long, long haul?

PinkRoses1245 · 27/10/2023 16:32

Sounds perfect. Take thick socks to put on whilst seated, and a big blanket scarf. I always get cold on flights.

stardust777 · 27/10/2023 17:32

I'd wear something like these trousers as I always wear compression socks on long haul flights. I always take a lightweight fleece and a scarf too, as I hate being cold (sometimes the AC is cranked up high).

swimymummy · 27/10/2023 17:51

Thanks everyone. East coast of America, will definitely be packing thick socks and will probably take a huge scarf as an extra blanket too (does make my hand luggage a bit bulky). I was going dark grey and black for stains too!

Cabin crew will give you an extra blanket if you ask. Husband had an extra one on our last flight.

That sounds like the perfect outfit. I wear something similar. I also take a really big soft scarf. I can wear it, roll it up and use as a pillow, or use it as a blanket. I also recommend silicone earplugs and an eye mask.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 29/10/2023 00:13

Was just going to post about the wax/mouldable earplugs and eye mask too. If u can bring one if those u shaped neck pillows. I also bring fluffy socks.

Saggypants · 29/10/2023 07:38

Ugh, airline blankets are rancid, definitely BYO fluffies!

If you are going somewhere really cold maybe think about whether you want to wear or bring your coat and boots on the plane. Saves a heap of space in your luggage, plus you have then with you if your luggage is delayed.

Moredarkchocolateplease · 29/10/2023 09:43

OP leggings is abs fine. We flew first class to Australia and most people wore the free pj's.

I flew to NYC this week, I was chatting to a lady who was flying in premium on business and she was wearing sweaty Betty jogging bottoms on top of her sweaty Betty leggings and a lululemon scuba hoody. She looked great.

Oh...and going by some of the previous posters...don't forget the kitchen sink 😂
