Party dress for winter

Please help me find something fabulous! I’m going to a wedding party this winter. Not black tie but quite glam. 49, size 10-12 but carrying more weight around the middle than I’d like and 5ft3 so lots of dresses are just ridiculously long on me. I love green and blue and brown and orange. I’m an autumn I think. I would like it to have a waist as empire line mostly doesn’t suit me. No puffed sleeves as they make me look like a large child. I can go up to £500.

Presumably your budget is fairly arbitrary? (It is a huge bargain, given that it’s still on sale almost full price elsewhere.)

It would look (even) cooler - and a bit more Wintery - with tall, narrow, suede boots in a good colour.

Love that sequinned dress too @Mirabai but I worry it’s a bit Christmas party.

I didn’t think so - didn’t occur to me - I think it would be a useful party dress that would lend itself to many occasions, it also looks quite comfortable.

My favourites are the Max Mara yellow silk, but I'd look terrible in that colour, and the Cefnn sequin dress. Also the bright blue Max Mara satin dress on their website is stunning, but more stand out occasion.
