School run trousers that are lounge-y and can be tucked into boots?

I don't want to squeeze into jeans now the weather is wet but all my loungewear is wide legged. What do you all wear that looks smart enough but can be tucked into boots and then kept on (comfortably) at home? Thanks!

You need to go slim/skinny to tuck in to boots.

So I think either you need to move to something cosy like fleece-lined leggings all day, or be a quick-change merchant when you need to put on boots to go out

(PS: nice to see the traditional and specific MN slang use of "school run" dressing" hasn't entirely died out!)

Haha, glad to resurrect it! Isn't it awful that I'm so lazy I can't be arsed to change into and out of jeans. But I am! 😂

I hate jeans and loveee my wrangler boots so are looking for similar.
I’ve been seeing a lot of the cargo type trousers around but ideally (as I sit down for work) wanted some with elastic back as then the don’t look so ass frumpy when I stand up. Also want slim leg for the boots.
I have some great black leggings in a thick material with a sewn (grey) detail on the side and a tie waist.

Ohhh I bought some ‘yoga pants’ from TKMaxx today in a Heather colour with a tie waist (I completed forgot) these have a cuffed bottom so will tuck into books but are a nice smart, soft material
