Eyeliner black or brown?

I normally wear a warm v v dark brown.

Just got permanent eyeliner done today and she said it's always black.

I always thought black was ageing - I'm 46 and dark brown eyes, quite pale skin.

It looks very strong, but I know it'll soften.

There's a top up in 6 weeks - should I ask for dark brown.....?

(Image attached looks not.great as I'm very tired and not allowed mascara or concealer for a week!)

I’ve also recently started wearing a brown one… I think its more flattering and softer as you say. I would ask for that unless you want black so if goes with different eyeshadow colours. Brown seems a more natural option though 🙂

What does she mean 'it's always black'? Of course it is not always black. Grey or brown are more flattering as we age.

She said that the permanent thicker liner is always done in black there. Bearing in mind its the placeto get tattoo makeup, I went with it.

They can add some brown above as shading so I might ask for this at the top up in 6 weeks time.

I've never got this done but have seen 'the place to go' near me saying they generally use brown rather than black because brown fades better, but the black fades to blue!
