Thermal help

Please can you tell me what thermals are any good? Looking long sleeve tops and leggings for myself and kids. I don’t know what ones to go for and don’t want to waste money on cheap ones if they don’t keep us warm.

Merino wool is the best for tops. I have some lightweight bottoms in a silky material from The North Face which I've had for years and do well in cold temperatures. I took them to the Baltics in winter and worked well.
