Which trousers with these boots?

Help stylish ones!

I have some new boots- they are the new vegan Josef Seibel boots and they look just like Oxblood Dr Martens.

Hence the question - I wore them with my everyday blue denim jeans and felt a bit too much like a skinhead from the early 80s.. :)

I like to dress pretty casual - mostly in my gym kit to be honest - but am stuck what to dress these boots with. I don't mind a skirt either.

Am in my mid-fifties, 5'9", about size 14

They’re nice boots but I’d be reluctant to wear them with trousers (unless on a hike, maybe). They demand the contrast of a flouncy, mid / lower calf skirt or dress. Velvet or cord. Something from here, perhaps?

My budget isn't generally so generous though so I will have a browse now I can picture the look.

Did you wear them with skinny jeans or more nom/tapered leg ones? What about a long black denim skirt?

I think even a long denim skirt would give a bovver boy impression. A dress might work, but there are better fabrics for a Winter dress.

My jeans were not skinnies, more of a straight leg but still too straight (and blue) iykwim.

i have considered maybe some wide cropped jeans/trousers - to show off the boots rather than only the foot part.

Denim skirt would be my style - there are a lot about at the moment.

Some useful ideas - I'll keep browsing. I do have a couple of items that I will try on and see how they look in the meantime.
