Fancy outer layer for dinners out/Xmas events?

Hello lovely MN S&B experts!
I've recently updated my wardrobe, with a couple of nice shiny-ish plain coloured bodysuits to wear with black jeans or a slip skirt. What I'm on the lookout for is a layer to wear over a top and jeans which is a bit more 'fancy' than just a cardigan, for dinners out etc. Nothing too intensely sparkly as I want it to last past Christmas. Any ideas? I'm 40, size 16-18, 5' 7", big boobs, I like fairly 'edgy' styles and trying not to look frumpy is more of a battle these days!!

Mint velvet seem to have a good range at the moment, 3 random examples here but they also have a pale gold sequinned blazer, a black knitted biker cardigan and a black sequinned "Chanel" style cardigan/jacket if that's more your thing. I love the black lace bomber jacket, a friend had a similar cardigan years ago and wore it loads, it looks strikingly different with a bright colour underneath for example

How about a velvet blazer? Festive but versatile. Boden always do them this time of year.

I have a Massimo Dutti satin blazer, pewter/greyish colour. The fabric has a sheen so it's festive without screaming Christmas, and I've worn it at other times of the year with jeans. The bad news is, it was second hand so I'm afraid I can't link but I imagine they'll do something similar when they put out their party stuff.

Indigo Moon. I bought a black/gold jacket from eBay which is rather fancy.
QVC used to sell this brand and I did think “who wears that?” Well turns out…me!

Thanks all! I'm afraid blazers don't look great on me despite me seeing them look fab on others - think I might be too busty and I end up looking like Dolly Parton's HR manager. The mint velvet ones look nice, I like the fluffy grey one! Think the Joe browns one might not be quite me but thank you for looking!

I’ve got a black sequin blazer (EBay) that I’ve worn once and a black with gold sort of sequins jacket from H&M, plus a white/ivory black and metallic Oliver Bonas jacket - all casual though so no buttons or zips, I think the blazer has buttons. Last year I got a great black boho jacket with sort of sequin fringing on sleeves from Zara.

If you want to go down the sequin bomber jacket route I know someone who makes and sells these as one offs, let me know and I can ask her. Reasonable prices.
