Can someone recommend an inexpensive one please? I’ve just had a keratin treatment. TIA.

Herbal essences do a green sulphate free shampoo

HappiDaze · 23/10/2023 23:26

I use Garnier Hair foods which happen to be sulphate free.

Sugarandspicy · 24/10/2023 00:55

I really like the Garnier Hair Food range too. I have the banana one and have used the coconut one before too. Both smell really nice. They also have a big pot of hair mask too

Iftheresawilltheresaway · 24/10/2023 02:35

Maui is really good. Around £8 per bottle but Boots and Superdrug do offers where it's half price and stock up then.

Catsaysmeiow · 24/10/2023 06:05

Milk shake “k respect” or “daily frequent” shampoo and conditioners are excellent after a keratin treatment. Allbeauty.com is usually the cheapest place for them

Myhusbandearns150k · 24/10/2023 06:15

I love the palmers coconut range.

bendmeoverbackwards · 26/10/2023 15:09

Thanks all

I have keratin treatments and use the OGX shampoo and conditioner (the Brazilian keratin one)

rookiemere · 26/10/2023 16:29

There's a really nice rose scented one from Holland and Barrett - Dr Ottos I think it's called

Same here, been using it a few years now and it keeps the treatment looking good.

This banana one? Second ingredient is sodium sulphate.

Disappointed that the Garnier one has sls in it. Can anybody recommend one with no parabens, sls etc as it all makes my scalp itch.

Sugarandspicy · 26/10/2023 20:01

@Aphotoaday oh thanks for that!! I didn’t know. I’ve had a look and it’s actually just silicone free

Sugarandspicy · 26/10/2023 20:06

Now on the hunt for a different shampoo and conditioner. I’ve found these on Amazon

I bought Cantu shampoo and conditioner in the US in the summer (I just checked, you can get it here). I found it in the cupboard yesterday and used it. My hair looked amazing!

I usually use Pureology which is relatively expensive, but Cantu is really cheap and I’m very impressed.

AGuinessOrTwo · 26/10/2023 20:43

I’ve always thought that you had to use a shampoo without sulphates, and sodium as the latter strips the keratin.

Where do you get your keratin treatment done? I do them myself, and do a much better job of it, and get 3 treatments out of a £30 bottle, meaning I can splash on the most luxurious keratin shampoo and conditioner ever, Keratheraphy.

RaininSummer · 26/10/2023 23:24

Some of the ads are very misleading. The hairburst one linked below, thank you, does contain sls in the ingredients list. Very sly of the manufacturers.

Dugs2010 · 26/10/2023 23:31

Elave junior shampoo. I find its the conditioner that keeps it soft anyway and since not near scalp I'm never that particular about brand. Takes a while to get used to having less of a 'soapy' lather but wouldn't change now

Sugarandspicy · 26/10/2023 23:32

@RaininSummer I saw that it said Sodium Sulfonate. I looked it up, apparently it’s not actually a sulfate but it says this about it so maybe best so avoid!

Sodium Sulfonate is safe to be used in rinse off products. However, its concentration should not exceed 2% in leave on formulations. Sodium C14-6 Olefin Sulfonate can make the skin and hair dry, so it is not recommended for the dry skin types.

Sweeetpea97 · 26/10/2023 23:47

Have a look at the Vita Coco range. Holland and Barrett sell it. Completely free of SLS, silicones, parabens etc. @RaininSummer also good for itchy scalp.

I’m pretty sure they do a serum too

Mangofandangoo · 26/10/2023 23:49

Aveeno apple cider vinegar is lovely 😊

Bornonsunday · 27/10/2023 00:36

These 2 are sulfate free as are faith in nature shampoo bars.
