Where to get makeup advice?

In some pictures recently my makeup looks awful. I look pale and kind of waxy, although it doesn't in real life. (Maybe it does and I can't see it!). I am useless with makeup so feel like I need to go to a counter and get some advice so I don't look pale and pasty the whole winter 🙄. Any advice on where is good, but not a brand that will cost the earth?

Never heard of that brand, I'll have a look. Although not sure I can warrant a trip to London for makeup, although I'm there in December! May just have to wait 😀

Dd wanted to start wearing makeup but felt very unconfident. I hadn't worn makeup since the 80s, so didn't feel confident advising her! So I asked for advice here, and Bobbi Brown demo sessions were recommended. I booked a couple of sessions. They were lovely, dd really enjoyed the experience and they gave her the confidence to experiment and develop her own style. They had some free slots while we were there, so I had a session as well. I was also impressed. They were able to demo makeup appropriate to each of us.

The Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder is great for this, it's very light in texture so doesn't cake and photographs very well.

Beauty Pie One Powder Wonder is also very good for this,

I wear Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation mixed with Trinny BFF, DW can look very matte and flat, it doesn't photograph well, these powders really lift it, just dusted lightly over.

I've just seen a Victoria Beckham video of her contouring her face. This is what I feel like I need too!! I just wear my foundation so my face colour feels "flat" and all one colour. Having a bit of life into my face should help
