Where do other plus sized women in their 40s get their clothes from in the U.K. please?! I’m a size 20-22 these days and find it so difficult to find quality nicely cut clothes (ideally in natural fibres like cotton, silk etc or that at least feel similar to that) that don’t cost the earth.

I’m a huge fan of Marina Rinaldi but don’t have the budget to buy from there except occasionally! I do like some Autograph stuff at M and S. In terms of ideal style I love Mint Velvet and can squeeze into some of their size 18 tops and dresses if they are loose fitting or made of stretchy material. I used to love Ted Baker and Whistles before I gained weight and could no longer fit into their clothes. I also used to like Monsoon but these days I find their fabrics feel generally cheap and thin but still cost the same or more as they used to charge for pure cotton etc.

I am not a fan of Evans, Yours, Simplybe etc. as I think their stuff just isn’t well cut and hangs like a shapeless sack. I think their stuff probably looks good on people in their 20s but not at my age. I get so frustrated because I find lots of the high street stores either don’t go up to my size or do a special “curve” range once they hit size 20 which is totally different and absolutely horrible in style and material even though their normal sized stuff would look perfectly lovely on a plus sized person if they would just size the exact same designs up (I’m looking at you Coast!).

I do want to lose the weight as I know it would be a million times easier to find nice clothes if I could get myself down to a 16-18 even so I can fit into High Street clothing, but it’s not going to happen overnight and I’m tired of having crap clothes in the meantime. I think it will actually help me lose weight if I am not always feeling so bad about myself.

Live Unlimited are good for dresses, and I've just got jeans and a leather jacket from them too, all of which are decent quality. I'm 5'4, 18/20, and older than you, OP.
I've also got dresses from Muthahood, though maybe a bit summery for this time of year. White Stuff sometimes has things I like, although the colours are a bit murky for me, and M&S works for me too. Sahara is lovely but more ££ .

@DelphiniumBlue yes I like Sahara!

I buy from most of the places already listed. However it is getting really hard to find anythIng NOT viscose/ Lenevo/LyocellTencel etc etc which make me sweat like a p.i.g. I was looking for some summer dresses that were below knee, size 20 and not any of those awful fabrics!
