Eyelash curlers - what am I doing wrong?

I’ve just started using eyelash curlers and bought Shiseido ones. I hold my eyelash for 45 seconds and there is almost no change to my lashes. Clearly I’m doing something wrong but when I google, it’s either too long, not long enough, there’s a gibbous moon or my eyelashes are just somehow wrong.

If any experienced and successful eyelash curled owners can give some tips, I would appreciate it.

I heat mine up slightly with my hairdryer

As per instructions

Same. Or pop them on top of the radiator for a minute (if on!) while I'm getting ready.
The heat does make a difference.

Ah! I didn’t think of heating them up but it seems obvious now. I’ll give that a try, thanks!

Good luck! Also, look into an LVL (lash lift) if you can afford it. Well worth it ... and say farewell to your curlers!

I have never seen much difference either.

I can never be arsed BUT I do use Clinique zero gravity curling mascara which is v good. And is tubing so it doesn’t budge.

I warm mine with the hairdryer and curl twice, once against my lid and once further up. I only hold each one for about 5 seconds.

Try pulsing when clamping your lashes then move up your lash and do it again, then move and again. I sometimes have to do that several times but my lashes are poker straight 😭
