Making my very first post to ask WHAT does one wear to a retirement party at a classy private-events-only venue (think lots of plants, lots of windows, lots of glassware) in mid-December… when Lord willing one will be 33wks pregnant?! It’s for my husband’s boss, and I’ve only met many of these people at a work Christmas party a few years ago (similar venue, I felt underdressed in a black lace pencil skirt and classy blush top, but then again that was a holiday party…)
I prefer to stay away from clingy outfits for personal reasons and generally dress on the quite modest side (knee length or below, looser, higher necklines), but I am very used to dressing up/going classy; I’m simply at a loss for what might be too formal and what might be too “wear to work” or casual, and conscious that theoretically being weeks away from giving birth means I can’t be exactly inconspicuous. 🤪
I’d appreciate any suggestions!
