What to wear with a cable knit, navy blue, v necked jumper

I love this jumper but I just don’t know what to wear it with. I bought it for work, so jeans no good. Black trousers feel wrong. Shirts underneath feel like school. Grey trousers also feel like school. Nothing underneath feels a bit underdressed. Help!

Grey tailored straight /wide legged trousers

I'd wear a blue/white striped t shirt and some kind of knee length skirt.

It's gorgeous but if everything makes you think of school could that be because of jumper style and colour?

I had this problem and started wearing the jumper with navy wide-leg trousers (basically all in navy), with natural leather coloured brogues. Navy t-shirt under the jumper. Sometimes a white shirt or navy with white stripes shirt underneath.

My dd wears jumpers something like this to work, but with slim or skinny jeans.
I like the jumper but I think you're fighting the fact that jeans are what it probably goes best with. It's not fitted enough to go well with wide trousers.

I'd have thought slim trousers, maybe ankle grazers would be the best bet,get rid of any school vibe by whatever you do with the neckline and shoes.
