What to wear?

I have two music events next month. One is 90's/00's Disco, and the other is Pete Tong Ibiza Classics. Standing tickets for both.

I don't know what to wear. I'm sick of skinny jeans.

I was thinking of embracing the 90's part of the theme (for the first one at least) and wearing some kind of slip dress/t shirt with my chunky ankle boots? But can't really see much I like.

I'm 41, size 8/10, 5ft 1

Any thoughts or suggestions?

There's a few nice outfits that might suit on this website. Search t-shirt dresses and mini dresses.

Slip dress seems like a good idea to me, since they are back 'in' this year and you'd get good wear out of it. You can always put a t-shirt or a sweater over it to make it look like a skirt nad up-to-date

I’m also going to Pete Tong so let me know what you decide to wear as I don’t go out much these days so any inspiration would be very much appreciated 🙂

I just missed the 90s as a teen and have been embracing for a couple of years the style as it’s come back round. I really like a black satin slip dress over a while T-shirt and chunky boots.

@discodownbutnotout do you never have your clothes altered to fit?

Taking up a hem would be one of the cheapest and easiest services any local tailor or alterations service will offer. (The only things that might be awkward are knitted dresses.) FWIW I adore the skirt you’ve linked. But then - the words ‘Top Shop’ do funny things to my ancient heart.

I do, but usually only things I know I'll get a lot of wear out of, but I suppose i could get the skirt altered. It's just a long time since I really considered it for 'going out' clothes.

Currently debating what to wear as we're standing and I'm wondering if I'll end up dumping my coat on the floor when we're dancing!

I'm thinking pleather skirt, sleeveless body and a blazer or a stretchy tight dress to try and re-enact my 90s clubbing days...

Yes, I was there on Thursday night and it was amazing.

My only problem was having to go to work the next day, so I'm hoping we get a Friday/Saturday slot next time around. It's only fair

Absolutely! To be honest, the night was fine but staying up (far too) late in our Air B&B didn't help today 😯

Did you both wear the outfits you mentioned?

@Youmeandacupoftea No, I ended up in wide legged black trousers, a tight vest and my trainers. Even went in a sweatshirt so I could tie it round my waist when I was dancing! It was very casual (which we much preferred)

I wore the same outfit both nights. I had to tie my leather jacket round my waist for the 00's/90's disco as that was bouncing from the start.

Pete Tong didn't come on until 9.00, so the full crowd and proper dancing didn't start till then and i just about survived wearing it
